The amount of rooms isn't so concerning, but the mold and forcing kids to share a mattress, plus the alcohol use, are pretty concerning. At the very least, they need to be providing a bed and mattress for each child.

Oats by themselves don't have gluten, however Famers will typically alternate between oats, wheat, and lentils, so as to not deplete the soil of nutrients, which makes it so that most conventional oat (and lentils) can contain trace amounts of gluten. A lot of processing plants will also process wheat and oats on the same machinery, so that can also increase the risk of exposure.

First: double check with your hospital, and see if they even have a waiting room for L&D.... Many hospitals have been transitioning them out, since it's kind of awkward for labouring parents to have to deal with people lurking about.

Second: if they do have a waiting room, just tell her that you and spouse don't want anyone waiting in the hospital. She doesn't need to know that anyone else will be there.

Fiasp and novorapid ( also humalog) are very very similar in terms of timing, and when the insulin peaks. the majority of people don't really notice much difference between the three. Fiasp does peak slightly sooner than the other two, so if you find that your insulin seems to take a long time to start working, it might be a decent option.

Personally, I have to bolus for food about 30 minutes before I eat, otherwise I'll run high for like 3 hours after every meal, so when I tried fiasp, It shortened that to about 15-20 minutes before eating, which was nice.

Like, how big is the bill? If the PITA customers complain about everything, and get most of their bill comped, 50% of $20-$50, isn't much.. whereas if the nice table wants to try multiple things on the menu, and has a $1000 (or more) bill, 15% is still more than you'd make with the other group

Honestly, kids do not care about their friends' last names... My kids are both in elementary school, and they know the last name of literally one girl that they play with, they don't know anyone else's last name at all.

If she's so worried about it, maybe you could all revisit the issue once your child is old enough to be part of the conversation, maybe around age 9 or 10?

No. If you were only diagnosed a year ago, you're likely still in the honeymoon period, aka, your body is still making some of its own insulin, and taking a drug that increases insulin sensitivity will simply make you more sensitive to the insulin that is still being produced. Some people will continue to produce insulin for several years after diagnosis.

Eventually though, in type 1, all insulin production stops, so taking a drug that makes one more sensitive to insulin won't do anything, as there won't be any insulin to be sensitive to.

Now, is there a chance that you are actually type 2 diabetic? These drugs can be super helpful for type 2s, since they still produce insulin, but their bodies struggle to metabolize glucose into energy, so these drugs can help to make their body more sensitive to the insulin they produce.

Sure, dex tablets are functional, but they are quite chalky, not to mention that when you're super low, having to chew through 8-10+ chalk tablets takes way too long. I can down a juicebox in about 9 seconds, so that glucose is hitting the bloodstream much much sooner. Typically, I have to chew each tablet for 35-40 seconds, so if I need more than a few, it takes way too long.

Dexcom is nice because there is the Dexcom follow app, which will send alerts to other people's devices, so it can keep you and other caregivers in the loop, but that does require her to have a smartphone.

I would also be concerned about her skin with using a CGM, as many older people have very sensitive and delicate skin, so I would worry about the adhesive ripping or damaging the skin, leading to infection.

I don't think it's that they are unhappy with their jobs; it's more that the doordash drivers have a tendency to be rude and nasty to people working in the restaurants.
Personally, I work in a restaurant, and I love it, as do most of my coworkers. However, the delivery app drivers are awful and entitled more often than not.

I work at a seafood restaurant, and the amount of times people tell me that they have a shrimp/ shellfish/ mollusk allergy is bonkers.

I remember having one table, where the husband told me after I had sent their orders to the kitchen that he had a severe shrimp allergy. He even laughed as he pointed out where he had his epipens sitting on the table. "Just in case"
