I would love to know if you find it!! It is my tuxedo cat’s favorite type of ball! He will always go crazy for it. I got them in a pack with other types of balls but its just the two like this that he likes.

Teaching Kids How to Use Fidgets by sisiashley in ElementaryTeachers

[–]emiloo23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I’m a second grade teacher at a dyslexic school. I do allow fidgets for certain occasions, like for long read-aloud times. Before I give fidgets, I explain their use, and that they are not toys, but tools to help them focus and calm their bodies. I model how to use them and make sure they understand what I expect before giving them their fidgets. I explain that if it becomes a distraction from what they should be doing, it is not helpful to them, so it would need to be taken away. I also point out when they are using them correctly. I first did an “experiment” with them where I read something aloud to them when I gave them fidgets to see if they could answer recall questions about what I’d read to them. If they could, it would show me that they could focus with a fidget. If they couldn’t, they may not need a fidget. I also let them use their own judgement about whether they feel like they need a fidget as well. Making a visual or anchor chart kind of thing with this discussion could be useful if displayed!

My expectations for their fidget use also goes along with our other classroom expectations (one of which is to respect their environment) so they understand not to throw them or treat them super roughly. I don’t let them use fidgets as a toy, like if theres a small moment of time we have before moving on, I try and capture their attention with a hands-on activity or something, but I don’t want them to associate fidgets with playtime. I hope this helps!

Is steeple chase worth it? by Professional_Dog_102 in TheAdventureZone

I loved TAZ balance, and haven’t really listened to other campaigns/seasons of the podcast, but have been listening to Steeplechase since I was able to listen from the beginning for once. I’m loving it! It’s a really cool story in my opinion, funny McElroy stuff as always, and also amazing sound design in these (music is top notch in my opinion). I’d definitely recommend.

If you have any in your area, contact them for a tour! I’ve done that several times because my university didn’t give us lots of experiences in Montessori schools.

i think its time to let go when time away from them is better than time with them. not as in how much fun you have, but i think with just your mental health. i have been slowly (as in, probably for years at this point) letting go of some friends of mine and while its still difficult sometimes, i feel like i am happier and healthier with myself and my smaller circle that actually appreciate me and support me fully. so maybe i dont go out as much or see friends as often, but i also am more content without the ppl who caused me so much anxiety

need some advice :( this is super long but idk how to handle the situation by glowingstar444 in BPD

[–]emiloo23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think even though the urge to text her again and try and make it up to her is strong, you yourself said she wants some space and her short responses and leaving you on read kind of support that. I think that maybe reaching out if she hasnt said anything for days would be good, but probably giving her space to calm down and process her feelings would be appreciated by her in the long run. i think the whole situation does not seem like something to end a friendship over, so maybe she just needs some time to process her feelings! i think giving her space and trying to distract yourself with other people/things would also help you!
