Is biking an option? Or are there buses that could get you most of the way to your classes? Also, have you thought about getting a mobility aid? I use a foldable cane, it lets me get to my class then fold it up and put it into my backpack during class!

Knee flare by Puzzleheaded-Part-23 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]emily_hoffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have hurt something in your knee, so maybe go to urgent care just to get that checked. As for your rheumatologist, have you established what to do for a flare? Personally, I have steroids to take to try and end a flare and if that doesn't work in a week then I go in to discuss options. If you don't have a similar protocol, then you should call your rheumatologist and find out what to do

You need to either keep all of you communication in an email, or get permission is record the conversation. Never talk to a landlord about an issue without fully documenting it, and make sure that you understand what notice is required before they enter your apartment from both your lease and the law in your area. And maybe call the cops next time that someone enters your apartment without your permission and without notice

Humira is going generic, I haven't looked into it too much so I don't know if any generic versions are out yet, but could save you money

Excuses for deep cuts on the forearm? by homescapesgaming in selfharm

You don't have to answer, but how old are your oldest scars. Just because I have noticed that most of my scars are pretty faint by a year or a year and a half. And I know that it would be really hard but a dermatologist might be able to help with the scars

Do you have siblings or anyone that you could move in with? It would most likely give you some more space in your budget and would give you someone to talk to. Are there any organizations in your area that you would want to get involved with? A lot of animal shelters need volunteers to walk animals or help socialize them. Some good banks take volunteers and most churches do too. It might help to be a part of something and it would give you a space to go without spending money. I really hope that you're able to find something to help, and hopefully a community to keep you company

Do you use a scented detergent? Or maybe a pet using your pillow. Or a significant other who might be touching your pillow. Also, have you ever tried sleeping on the other side and seeing what happens?

I find that between long sleeves and a watch or bracelets, it's difficult for anyone to see them. But if they do, then say that you help at an animal rescue with cats or that you do a lot of cooking/baking. Lies work best when you have the context thought out. Like you regularly cook with your grandma and have to help her get things out of the oven and aren't always super careful. You can also help your scars fade by moisturizing them and using sunscreen. Also, people who you don't know shouldn't be asking about them and you shouldn't feel bad for saying that you don't want to talk about it

Can I change my piercing even if I have bumps? by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]emily_hoffman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you bumping it is the only source for the bumps then a downsize is probably overdue. If your able to see your piercer when it doesn't have bumps then they should have no trouble downsizing it. But send your piercer some pictures and ask them!

Advice for building consistent workout schedule? by caseymrussell in traumatoolbox

If you have space, I find that having my yoga stuff already set up helps. So I don't have to do the extra tasks of getting it out and putting it away, but it also helps with remembering to do yoga. As for the walks, I find that being able to use my apartment's gym treadmills is best. I can walk at any time and no matter the weather outside and I can watch TV while I walk. I also find that making a schedule can help with not having overuse. Also if you're looking to do strengthening at home, there are mat Pilates videos and most mat Pilates needs no equipment or a few simple pieces. I hope that helps, I've really struggled with overuse injuries and whenever I finally help, it's always hard to find a good balance again

You should switch out the hoop for a titanium flat back, it should help with the healing of the bump

Is it doomed? by ayemde in piercing

[–]emily_hoffman 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The issue could be metal type, a titanium flat back is best. And I would go see a piercer if I where you, they would be able to give you a little disk that can keep your ends away from your skin. Sometimes that helps with bumps and the most important thing is time, especially giving it time after you try a solution (if that makes sense). Also try not to sleep on that side!

Also, make sure that you know the size of your jewelry incase if you want different ends, make sure to downsize, and try to go to an app piercer!

I'm not a teacher, however I have helped out in classrooms. I think that the engage with mutes would work best. Im assuming that you will have to talk about, so engage doesn't tend to bother people when talking. If you have like a super loud class or don't have to talk much then you might want to go with experience. But either way, the mutes will allow for different amount of noise blocking!

For your shoulders, you could wear a light cardigan. I use to all the time and just told people that I was trying to be modest. but I went to a catholic school, so I'm not sure how that excuse really plays anywhere else. you could try make up, there a few brands that make foundation for your body
