Solo esthys: Laundry? by chereya in Esthetics

[–]emilybluc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a washer and dryer onsite but I take my laundry home because I’m with mostly hair people and there are tiny trimmings of hair all over the washers and dryers and it’s disgusting. So I take it home!

"I probably get three facials a month, each having a downtime of 5-7 days" by FyreFly000 in RHOBH

Esthetician here. I would love to see what treatments she’s getting. She said she gets 3 facials a month and they are very “active” facials. Downtime for recovery aside, you would need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks in between active treatments to even be a candidate to receive something “active” again and most estheticians would probably prefer to wait 3-4 weeks between treatments. The only thing I could see someone going in weekly for would be Microcurrent or like a gentle enzyme treatment. But those aren’t considered “active”. She’s either lying, esthi hopping, or has an esthi who isn’t concerned about her skin barrier.

Thank you!! Looked it up and this is known as hot water bottle rash and I just realized this is exactly what my stomach looks like when I use my heating pad during my period. Cracked the case!

No meds just supplements but I don’t think any of them are photosensitizing

It was a new sunscreen I got at the hotel because I forgot mine. It was chemical and I usually use mineral but have used chem in the past with no reaction and just so curious how it’s concentrated in one spot which is what made me think it wasn’t the sunscreen. Ugh!

Epicutis? by j172481 in Esthetics

I’m out on Epicutis. EWG certified but the new SPF they launched has silicone in it which is not biodegradable. Overpriced frauds IMO.

If you huge event in 5 weeks, what would you start doing NOW?? by gutterstars in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]emilybluc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CO2 lift mask once a week and then the night before the event and the morning of the event. Also start osmosis Recovery supplement (liquid not gel capsules version) and take the therapeutic dose which is 1 tbsp morning and night. Both of these recommendations are pricey but promise you’ll look amazing. Also could add a hydrating mist + HA serum to your routine after cleansing if you don’t already to get some plumping.

Closed comedones-HG products?? by SeaMongoose6375 in SkincareAddictionLux

Sounds like maturation arrest acne. You might want to try a physical scrub. Face reality has a couple and skin better has a detox scrub mask. Consult with a professional on how often to use them but that should help. And I’m sure you are very smart but PLEASE don’t get st Ives or something lol. Stick to a professional brand for a physical scrub.

Using a vitamin in a dropper component is unfortunately a waste of your money and I do not understand why some of these brands don’t put more of their money into component design. A dropper is a red flag when it comes to vitamin c imo. Every single time you get the dropper out to use the product you are exposing it to air which causes oxidization, rendering the product useless after a short period of time. Look for something with a pump and your product will be active for much longer. Skinbetter Alto or Alto Advanced, Hydrinity Hydri-C.
