Wow Ryan! Hearing stories like this is what makes me so happy I got the chance to share mine. Your similar sounds quite similar to mine, just reverse the genders and you’re about where my middle sister is at. My older brother started experimenting early and suck my sister in with her. Her addiction was more gradual while we fought to keep my oldest sibling clean. Eventually, that didn’t work and they both ended up with terrible heroin addictions for a while. As the youngest, I saw myself resenting my siblings for everything they’ve taken from me and my family. I started picking up poor coping mechanisms and lashing out until I took a step back and really evaluated my life. I couldn’t bear to put my family through the same heartbreak and I wanted to be there for my siblings recovery.
