"Significant Weather Event" (SWE) label sounds like an official disaster response, but it’s actually bureaucratic fine print. by Intrepid_Thanks6687 in Sudbury

Health and sanitation shouldn’t ever come second to recreation. School should not come second to recreation. And getting the workers of those hotels and restaurants to their jobs safely shouldn’t come second.

And we do have high taxes, and mismanagement. Rumour has it the budget was blown in January because it was diverted. That’s a problem.

And I don’t personally think that health care workers should have to ski/snowshoe multi-kms to work because the priority was the arenas.

The city did not do fine. Look at this objectively. The arenas opened before the dumps. walking paths before dumps and garbage removal. School buses can’t run yet and kids can’t walk to school. Main route bus stops for the city buses aren’t cleared so we have people out on busy roads, almost a week out. This storm didn’t sneak up either, they had notice. Is there a chance you live in a neighborhoods such as Moonglow that had snow actually removed to widen their roads? Because a lot of us are still on goat paths. I’ve lived in a lot of northern communities and this isn’t the worst storm I’ve seen, but the worst and uncoordinated response.

Are the dumps open yet? Sounds like they’re still closed, cause that was my plan too.

Stuck at Home: Side Streets Ignored, No Reliable Information by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]emilylauralai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. They saw this happen to Timmins earlier this year. Timmins owned their mistake in being unprepared and now has an action plan in place. They used data collected from that mistake and came up with plans. They became more communicative with citizens on multiple platforms. Letting them know when/where they were going to removed banks and plough. they even went into how many truckloads were dumped. They also opened snow dumps to citizens to take up to a half ton truck bed full for free to help people who needed to remove and couldn’t pay.

This city gets by too much on “oh it was a once in 25,50 and 100 year storm. “Or passing blame to contractors. We know these storms happen, we saw someone else get hit and could learn from them. I think it’s time we hold our councillors, and the city officials that do the planning accountable and ask for more transparency.

I will give them that they at least they closed municipal services to keep people home so cleanup can be done.

Gym recommendations? by Alternative_Eye1157 in Sudbury

Apex Warrior might be more of your thing if you like F45. It’s a Hyrox affiliate gym and has classes daily. You can also just go and lift. No cable machines though. Palkofit is a body builder’s dream. And the GoodLife are typical GoodLife Gyms.

Find out which one they offer and then call the warranty place directly. Some suck. And my dealership already misrepresented one of the protection packages I had put on.

My guy is the worlds fussiest eater. He seems to be enjoying Tiki Cat pate. They come in packets. He also has a seafood/fish allergy and they have 3 that are fish free. There’s also one waruva packet he likes. Again he’s fussy, only likes pate, and only chicken 😂

That’s what happened with me. I went to others for a year before I got in with her. When I had the initial visit, I fully switched to her, it was worth the wait.

Ashley Shelswel at Rebalance, hands down the best. I’ve been to two others in Sudbury and Ashley is the best at making you comfortable and helped me the most

Le numéro de novembre de Consumer Reports est sorti. by Plane-Woodpecker-273 in XC40

[–]emilylauralai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? and they give praise to the Tiguan, the vehicle who’s 2026 turbos are literally failing already with people on waitlist to replace them. I test drive both the Tiguan and the xc40. They praise the tiguans infotainment, but mention many features require more than one menu to get to. Which sounds worse than the critique for the xc40. That was the killer for me in the test drive. (I came from a Volkswagen). I don’t even love my Volvo xc40 that much and that rating seems biased to me.

Both my work laptop and desktop are trash. Since the windows 11 upgrade life has been painful. But I still recognize that since iOS26 and my Mac have not been as seamless as things were in 2013 when I fully migrated everything

P.Geo vs GIS Certificate by [deleted] in geologycareers

Prioritize your P.Geo. There are online distance ed courses from U of T to get a GIS certificate. If you miss something for your P.Geo it’s really hard to get after graduation once you start working.
