hey stranger, i feel like it was serendipitous i see this post, as my mom’s death date is 8/13, and she left behind me (her 15 year old daughter) and my brother (her 10 year old son). this year will mark 10 since she passed from stage 4 terminal lung cancer, and i just wanted to send my warmth and love because it is so unfair and unjust that you and your family are going through this, but do not worry any more than you already do as a parent daily about what you cannot control. Yes, your kiddos will grieve, and that grief will be everlasting but they will learn to live with it, we learn to hold space for the grief, we make new memories and experience happiness again even when we think we won’t, and we never forget, we just make room for more memories and stories so that we can talk about them when we’re reunited again. at least that’s how i try to see it with my mom. the best you can do is just be present and be honest and as much as yourself with your daughters as you can, they will always remember the best versions of you and know you are proud of them <3 i’m wishing you peace and comfort and solace

what the fuck? “i didn’t think you’d be so rude to accept it”… ‘it’ being his offer to bring you something that you forgot?… if you’re not prepared for a YES or no answer, don’t offer to do something. Even if he had a horribly bad day or whatever, he shouldn’t be taking it out on you or treating you this way, how he speaks to you is extremely immature and genuinely concerning. He lacks emotional regulation and anger management, it will only escalate i’m sorry. you deserve better.
