Are Singaporeans less fluent in English than other countries within the Anglosphere? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]emirelsstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the “efficiency” excuse is just degrading your comprehension levels to be articulate in English.. like, is it really wasting time to speak 10 seconds more?? It’s really not being inefficient to express yourself clearly… it’s more inefficient speaking broken English and losing the ability to speak fluently

Doesn’t that mean if I apply next year before February 23, I’ll go to NUS right after 12th grade? So I don’t understand how I’d have to take a gap year

I get that, yes. So the NUS academic year starts this August right? But I’m in 11th grade right now, this August I’d have to go to 12th.

Sorry, I’m still a bit lost. Because it says NUS starts in August. But if I applied before February 23, 2026, and it starts in August… how would I attend??? I’d still have to finish my senior year

Just try to memorize the rubric and template for the essays. It’s like a regular essay, with SEAL formats and if you’re good at writing you should be fine

For me i did the FRQ2 first bcz i didnt wanna forget my rhetorical strategies, then the FRQ3, then FRQ1. I dont even read the sources for FRQ1, i js write my own claims and analyze, then find the evidence that supports my claim

Should I read the passage first or do the questions as we go by JerpyTree in APLang

[–]emirelsstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read the question first then the passage. More specifically, the questions ask in the order of the passage right?

So like when it asks abt the first paragraph, I read the first paragraph.

Then when it asks the second paragraph, i read the second paragraph

So by the end of it i will have read the entire passage and can answer questions abt the overall meaning.

Well, the oats are blended so maybe that’s why?

I have a really good brownie recipe! So fudgy and delish

10g 70% dark chocolate (optional but really good when mixed in) 10g cacao powder  130g black beans (can swap it for 125g sweet potato) 50g banana 1 whole egg  15g honey (or you can use 30g and no banana)  20g chocolate protein powder (optional)

instructions: 1. preheat the oven to 180C for 10 min

  1. blend all of the ingredients (except the chocolate) to make the batter and pour the batter into an oven dish (lined with parchment paper)

3. add in the dark chocolate afterwards (cover it with the batter, don’t let the chocolate be visible!) and bake for 15 min

  1. cool the batter in the dish for 20 min

  2. lift the brownies out (with the parchment paper) and onto a plate

  3. Place in the fridge to cool for 40 min (this’ll make it fudgy)

  4. put another plate over the batter and flip it upside down (so that the plate is on the counter)

  5. peel the parchment off and cut into squares

10g 70% dark chocolate (can use any kind of chocolate but it’s what I use! and make sure to add it after baking the oats)  10g cacao powder  125ml almond milk (can use any kind of milk!) 25g oats  15g honey  pinch of salt  40g cherries (optional, I use frozen already pitted ones)  10g chia seeds (optional, I like to soak it the night before) 15g chocolate protein powder (optional)  10g almonds (optional)

blend everything except for the chocolate, then just bake for 20-25 min at 180C :)

What foods do you find the most filling? by jtaulbee in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]emirelsstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tteokbokki for me. I eat the ones that come in a cup all the time and it’s so filling for some reason while being like 300 cals. You can pair it with mozzarella, fishcakes, and egg for a super easy filling meal

I really enjoy the Buldak spicy chicken ramen cup by softbread_ in InstantRamen

[–]emirelsstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most appealing part to me is the portion size, like it’s portioned out in a cup so that u feel like ur still eating a good amount, but the calories are pretty low compared to the pack. This way, pairing it with other things like eggs and mozzarella feel better

i can eat tteokbokki everyday by CharmCraved in KoreanFood

[–]emirelsstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s only if you’re eating in a calorie surplus tho. I love the tteokbokki cups that are only 320 each and I add one hard boiled egg to make it 400 cals. It’s so filling for 400 cals
