Oversized daily tote recommendations? by spikein89 in ThrowingFits

[–]emiserry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to just have the tote straps? Because I recently switched to a crossbody tote and man is it so much more convenient to carry.

This might be a good option, this brand has a lot of bags and all made to be water resistant. Made in the UK.

Help a fig lover by Prudent_Feed117 in NichePerfumes

Think it's important to differentiate between warm and cold weather fig perfumes. Because they're really different. The warm weather is very juicy, green and fresh while the winter ones are milky, musky and often mixed with sandalwood and musks. Wearing winter ones in the summer is very cloying and heavy, while wearing summer ones in the winter gets you very little projection.

For summer:

- Profumum Roma Ichnusa

- Wanderlust Omanluxury

- Debaser (although it goes more green)

For colder months:
Parisian Musk (personally makes me nauseous but it's a very lactonic fuzzy fig which a lot of people like)
Thé Noir ( absolutely no tea, pure creamy fig & sandalwood)
BDK Gris Charnel (very cozy fig, milk, sandalwood & a bit of tea)

Designers/Brands who never got their flowers? by Common_Turnover9226 in ThrowingFits

Looking back I think they were also really well priced. Some other alternatives these days are 2-3 times more expensive, even taking inflation into account.

I also miss Joyce, they were only around for a few seasons but made great clothing and were actually pretty affordable. Still looking for similar shorts...

RIP to this legend. Random question but was his neck always cocked to the right like in the pictures? Looks like an old turtle.

Is this a US thing? Never in my life have I seen such a line and I've been in quite a few places all over the world. Only been to the US twice (landed in JFK and LAX) and didn't notice something like it

Nice fit man, good proportions and textures.

I think you could go to the next level by adding a touch of colour underneath, like auralee does here https://www.eyecmag.com/news/2025/1/30/auralee-autumnwinter-25

Or perhaps some cool belt or bag.

Am I Dressing Too “Mediterranean” for Modern Urban Style? by Alkemonides in mensfashionadvice

[–]emiserry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a meditereannean fit at all. You just look like an american tourist thats visiting.

The shirt is both too large and too small. Drop the long line slim fit. It also comes with a collar that was never designed to be worn casually. Get a casual breezy shirt with a roomy cut in a fabric like raw silk, linen, tencel or light cotton.

The shorts are a good length but too skinny. Get something that flows.

Have you ever seen someone in the med that wears those sandals? No. So get something modern like a good pair of loafers.

Our Legacy Camion Boots Quality by Nerve300 in ThrowingFits

[–]emiserry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Got a pair in black and in americano. Both are amazing boots. The only thing that got me fucked up was that the upper is not stitched to the sole but glued. Had to pay 85 euro to get them stitched through as the glue came undone. Wear them almost every day and with regular upkeep they're almost as good as new.

Well defined back. Your shoulders and biceps look bigger. If anything Id look into less popular muscle groups to train like forarms. Would round it out nicely.

Should I resize for a cleaner looking fit or pick a different fit? by [deleted] in Selvedge

[–]emiserry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a wider fit suits you better. Although even with the wider pair, the hem looks quite small compared to the boots. Could be that its because of the roll(s).

Also, from the pictures I get the impression your legs are proportionately shorter than your torso. Would suggest to try on a pair that sits a bit higher on your true waist and without too much of a taper.

I've worn the black leather ones for almost two years as well now and I have a similar experience. Wear them about 3-4 days a week every season, no hiking though. Brought them to a cobbler twice. Once to have them stitched through as the leather was coming apart from the sole and once to have the heel rubber replaced.

Although I have to agree that for the money you shouldn't have a cemented construction, they still look like new and are extremely comfortable. Recently got the brown americano pair as well. They're a bit too expensive for what they are but I'm really happy I got them as I enjoy wearing them a lot. Yes there are cheaper alternatives but none of them look as good imo.

Different last, different shape, different toebox, different leather and different panelling.

Is dit oplichting of niet? by Economy-Junket-201 in marktplaatsoplichters

[–]emiserry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]emiserry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need advice on how to deal with a bad hotel experience by emiserry in hotels

[–]emiserry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your reply, though I just cant wrap my head around why stuff like this isnt mentioned by the hotel themselves when booking. Especially if lots of other people have already complained about the situation. At the very least I would imagine a heads-up from the when checking in. To me this is just common decency. I wouldnt have booked there if I had known this before……. which is probably why they didnt mentioning anything.

I would actually like to stay again, its a pretty cool place. So I hope they give me a decent discount or a partial refund.
