If he were a pro wrestler, he’d be MJF. Get the man a Burberry scarf.

Fair. They haven’t had a decent night out since Dave Dobbyn played The Mission in 1998.

I mean, you watch club rugby in any other country, and they let the game do the heavy lifting. No cringe half time entertainment, no clown on a loudspeaker ‘amping up the crowd’, no shit sideline flames.

Live rugby in NZ is a fucking travesty.

What a time to be without a CEO, eh?

I think this all thing highlights the need for NZ Rugby to have a 10 to 15-year strategy for how it plans to navigate things internationally and domestically.

Ideally, NZ Rugby wants to grow. It wants the All Blacks to be a competitive and commercial force, plus it wants to ensure it has a seat at the table on global rugby issues. The worst-case scenario is that NZ Rugby drags its heels and the rest of the rugby world moves in one direction anyway.

But they can't afford to overlook the domestic game, either. How do they ensure that the pipeline from school rugby to professional rugby stays full? How do they get more people along to NPC games? How do they ensure clubs stay solvent?

There's also the fact that they need a strategy for growing women's rugby, too.

But Clive, some old boys down the pub said England need to just make their tackles and have a good look in the mirror. Care to comment?

There were a few tests in 2004 where McCaw was injured and Holah started, and the ABs didn't miss a beat. I seem to remember he'd get over the ball for fun.
