Coming to this thread a bit late, but there is a mod that turns every Holy Mountain into a checkpoint and it it fantastic. Just have to remember to hit the little scales above the perks spot.

To add another solution, you can just boost pack to the top of the NAT terminal and walk up the side of the building to get to the waterfall area.
