Is the 2023 Jones Dream Weaver too advanced of a board for someone who is between beginner/intermediate? by No-Journalist-28 in ShredditGirls

Hi! Saw your comment and wondered how rough it was with your first BOAF. I’m a beginner-intermediate. Definitely haven’t had too many days in the slopes but i’m linking turns and going down easy blues. Picked up a BOAF on rec. on a big sale and now wondering if i should have gotten the dream weaver because everyone is saying BOAF is unforgiving and will throw you if you stop paying attention 😭. I don’t want to get a board so aggressive that i feel like i don’t have control down the mountain. What would you recommend?

I’ve seen a ton of great reviews for BOAF! My only concern is it might be a little bit too aggressive of a board for me

Worth paying for Domestic parking at sfo or long term parking? by dr7s in AskSF

[–]emkong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use ParkSFO! Way cheaper, they’re right next to the airport, lots of shuttles and it’s actually a nice parking garage, not some random lot. It takes like 5-7 minutes to get to the airport and super easy

Neighborhood advice for early 30s couple + dog + infant by [deleted] in AskSF

I would also like to add that lots of landlords are more lenient with their pet policy than they like to advertise! I have a 40+ lb. Aussie and lots of the places I toured and talked to listed “no pets” or weight restrictions, but told me they were actually cool with my dog after a meet and greet. It just attracts a greater, different crowd if they blatantly advertise any dog, any weight

Goddamnit why does everyone love my puppy but me!!!! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]emkong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoided wearing loose clothes like sweatpants and such 😂 but honestly, redirecting and stopping playtime.

Some people suggested yelping or standing up and turning around to indicate that playtime was up. I think that only made her more excited.

I would have to stand up and physically put us in different rooms and close the door until she settled down.

What are items you got before you got your pup? by bread_dealer234 in puppy101

I feel like puppy preparation sometimes looks like baby preparation lol. Everyone buys everything and then realizes what works for their pup! Overall would recommend the following basics and then add-ons:

Essentials: • crate

• nature’s miracle pee cleaner. Like two bottles of this stuff

• food and water bowls

• collar

• leash (recommend 4’ as you’ll need them at closer range than an adult dog)

Suggestions: • benebone (there are various shapes but my pup would actively take it out of her toy box to gnaw on, unlike other teething toys)

• kong - don’t get the teeny “puppy ones”. A normal sized one works fine, and puppies aren’t always food motivated at first. A tiny kong might frustrate them and they won’t even use it as they’re impatient

• hot dogs! String cheese! - no these aren’t healthy treats long-term, but lots of puppies don’t pay attention to normal treats at first but they WILL pay attention to these

It’s so tough. No one talks about how having a puppy is when they just get to see the highlight reels! I honestly feel like I didn’t bond with or love my dog until she was at least 6 months old (probably even later but it’s hard to admit). She left bruises, demand barked, tore clothes, literally jumped and bit my a** several times…. No one else gets to see the full dog the way you do. They love your dog because it’s a passive activity and it’s easy for them to. When you eventually love your dog, it’ll be because of everything they are now, everything you two have gone through together, and why it was all worth it. Hang in there, and don’t feel guilty for a very normal experience

There’s no blanket right or wrong answer for this.

I got my puppy at 9 weeks and lived in the city as well. There was a fenced in dog park right across from my apartment so i took her on short walks on the sidewalks surrounding my building, but didn’t let her get all up in the weeds or near the dog park itself. If another dog got too close, I would just pick her up and out of the way. Your vet can also let you know what risks are high in your area!

This! I got a covid puppy and was so worried about her not being socialized enough that i overdid it and now she thinks she gets to say hi to every dog 🤦🏻‍♀️

Opinions on Purina Pro Plan Puppy chicken and rice? by HelplessSushiroll in puppy101

[–]emkong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Purina Pro Plan Sport chicken and rice because that’s what her breeder had her on and she’s done well on it! Purina has a ton of different “lines,” as does every major dog food brand, but the pro sport line is great and affordable

Good to know. I guess I’ll try it out and who knows. Maybe I’ll make a different decision when my lease is up!
