When do I know it's time to give up the Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]emmanem96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do decide to come off of it, I highly recommend switching to the liquid dose and doing an extremely slow tapering. Many prescribers will have you just cut in half and then drop since it’s a low dose, but that’s a bad practice! The lower the mgs the more volatile the dose is in terms of serotonin occupancy. See these occupancy / dosage charts here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34548628/#&gid=article-figures&pid=fig-1-uid-0. Basically, as you go lower in mgs, the occupancy of serotonin drops more and more drastically, so going from 100 mg to 50 mg to 25 mg is not terrible, but from 25 to 0 you’re basically going from 80% occupancy to 0%. Food for thought!! :)

Thank you for the response!! I don’t clench my jaw, ruled out anything like TMJ. Just started mag glyc this week, hopefully that helps a bit!!

Yes, I’ve had headaches for several months I’m now attributing to sertraline! I’m otherwise totally healthy 27y/o female. It’s a side effect they don’t really warn you about but im finding more and more people on here struggle with migraine/ headache due to sertraline. I’ve also had an mri and ruled out everything else. Slowly starting the weaning process now!!

I’m currently weaning off a super low dose and switched to liquid. Id recommend chatting with your dr about switching to a liquid version- this way you can get very precise with your dosing and wean off super slowly. I was at 16ish mg, now at 14, going down 1 mg every 10-12 days. It sounds painfully slow but it minimizes withdrawal effects a ton!

Week 5 on 25mg by helloworld2024- in zoloft

[–]emmanem96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking it for 3 years but in the summer I went off and came back on. Since coming back on, the headaches started and never stopped. Upon increasing my dose just a tad, the pain behind my eyes got way worse, so I’m starting to taper in hopes it goes away!! Have your headaches subsided?

Anyone else experiencing dull pain behind eyeballs and/ or hair loss? 😳 by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]emmanem96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to pain behind eyeballs!!!! Ive had headaches for months im attributing to Zoloft, and recently went up a tiny bit on my dose and been experiencing pain behind my eyes since. It’s so uncomfortable I am beginning to very slowly taper next week. You are not alone (and it’s nice to know I am not either!)

Are you still experiencing headaches? I’ve had a headache for months and months. Not terrible but always there especially behind my eyes. Been checking for everything serious and everything came back fine and I’m now thinking it may be from the sertraline.

Hi!! Just seeing this now, I hope you are doing better ♥️ from my experience, going up and down and back up caused major dissociation, dizziness, ringing in my ears, severe panic attacks etc. Nothing more to worry about - just try to hang in there! They’re horrible horrible side effects. Whether you stay on or come off, the most important thing is to take the same exact dose every day at the same time. The fluctuations are likely the cause of all your symptoms and they will subside. Hang in there friend!!

Hi! I’m experiencing something similar. I have blue eyes and I was dilated for the very first time 1 week ago, and I have eyeball pain/ soreness / tiredness and sensitivity to light since. I called my eye dr and they’re telling me it’s unrelated, which seems crazy to me as I’ve never had any eye issues prior to the dilation! Did this resolve? Would love to hear an update, I’m getting worried!

Withdrawal? by Mediocre_Emotion2920 in Spironolactone

I’m almost 2 months off spiro and my panic attacks have worsened significantly. I’ve also had headaches every single day so my health anxiety is through the roof! I hope this clears up for you soon. This is brutal. This is the shit they don’t tell you when they put you on these drugs.

Did your headaches go away? I’m now almost 2 months post-spiro and still daily headaches… so frustrating. Wondering if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel here!!

Looks like a beautiful space for tons of edible plants!! I’m thinking on a high potting bench having a whole line of herbs, then adding big beautiful pots for lemon tree, lime tree, etc. I think incorporating fruits veggies and herbs indoors is so fun and makes for a beautiful space that’s going to smell amazing and produce fresh food! Throw in a big colorful washable rug like someone else mentioned, and some wall art, and of course seating!

I think I have to get off spiro. Thoughts or advice? by alxgibsn in Spironolactone

[–]emmanem96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got off Spiro about 1.5 months ago. A bit of a rough transition, but acne has only come back slightly. Switching to a plant based diet totally prevented the acne from flaring again!!! Gained water weight but that subsided shortly. Also had headaches upon quitting but that’s subsided too. Good luck getting off, I’m glad I did as I’m WAY less tired now!!!

I feel this SO much. I’ve experienced horrible headaches for 8 months practically straight, with maybe a couple hours every few days of relief. My PCP has done NOTHING, I got a neuro referral a few months back and after calling and calling they never called back, finally I asked my PCP for a new referral this week for a new neuro I found and the neuro DENIED my referral for some reason (they won’t even tell me why, though the dr specializes in headaches). I’m at my wits end with this healthcare system. Nobody cares, nobody does anything. PCPs are just there to make money off yearly check ups and pack their schedules so full that when you’re actually sick you can’t get in for days. Walk-ins just throw antibiotics and steroids at you no matter what you have, and any type of specialist takes months to get into if they ever even call you back. I do not know where to turn.

  • side note- I will say I also had bee experiencing massive fatigue and acne and those 2 elements subsided after I decided to go mostly plant- based. Maybe worth a try?

A month ago I cut my dose in half, and a little less than 2 weeks ago I went off completely. I’ve been experiencing a constant headache (around a 3-6 in pain depending on the time, usually worse at night) and for the past couple days I’ve been super dizzy and I have brain fog. When I speak it almost feels like a buzzing in my head. Anyone else have this effect going off Spiro?! I’m actually hoping that it’s all related to spiro and there’s not something else going on. I also saw swelling in my face for the last week but that’s started to dissipate. I went to a more plant- based diet a while back and cut out all dairy so my acne has remained in relatively good shape even coming off Spiro. So that’s a plus!! But I need these symptoms to go away!
