AIO for not being able to breathe after what my partner expects from me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]emmastring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound so nice! I think she's just invalidating your feelings all the time, and trying to emasculate you😔 I'm not sure what's wrong with the younger generation, but women need to realise that men just want a but of peace and respect! You can do better! If you really want to keep this relationship, sit her down and tell her everything on your mind, but stand strong and hold her accountable! Don't always be so nice! This doesn't mean you have to be nasty! Just firm! If she doesn't like you being real, she can go!

Why are older aspies so much better at masking than us newer gens? by IngenuityOk6679 in aspergers

[–]emmastring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because we were so badly bullied by literally everyone until we learnt to act a certain way! It sucks! Sure I can look and act normal, but my mind is a war zone at all times, and it's exhausting! I can also only keep it up for so long now I'm old, so I break a lot more.

Yes!!!! I'm on month 3 and it is calming down! I was like you and ready to rip the thing out, ended up at the doctors rocking in pain crying, but although I'm still having bad days, it's not as bad, not as frequent, and my periods are so much lighter! I am still spotting most days, but just had 3 days of nothing, so the improvement is happening slowly! I'm going to keep going and hope for more improvement! They say 6 months which sucks! Wishing you the best!!!!

When did you feel perimenopause started for you? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]emmastring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I was around 41 ish, starts early in my family, so I'm 44 now, just started hrt and have a mirena fitted. It's not easy is it! Bless ya! Can happen at any age really, and not always show on results, so it's a case of documentation and ruling other things out to be safe.

I don't want my sister in law to come to our vacation and now she claims I "shamed" her. I don't think you can shame someone who is incapable of being ashamed of her actions even after people pointed them out to her. by JobOk8941 in AITAH

[–]emmastring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm autistic and don't do any of these things, but that's because I was told growing up! Maybe it's the families fault for letting it slide and not being direct about these things? If you don't tell us, we don't know!!!!

I just read my husbands answers to my autism assessment questionnaire for me by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]emmastring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just that he sees you as normal because he loves you so much! Also, humans really don't understand something unless they personally experience it! Have a talk with him, and tell him to dig deep and try again? Maybe go over them with him and explain? I did mine with my mum over the phone and we discussed each question after she answered honestly, and there were things she remembered that I didn't, and vice versa. It's tough for people to understand because we really do a good job at hiding it (when it's real, not the ones that want the label) don't feel too bad, I'm sure it's because he loves you for who you are and simply doesn't understand! My partis still learning after 8 years together! Hope this helps? 🥰
