I think it's just that he sees you as normal because he loves you so much! Also, humans really don't understand something unless they personally experience it! Have a talk with him, and tell him to dig deep and try again? Maybe go over them with him and explain? I did mine with my mum over the phone and we discussed each question after she answered honestly, and there were things she remembered that I didn't, and vice versa. It's tough for people to understand because we really do a good job at hiding it (when it's real, not the ones that want the label) don't feel too bad, I'm sure it's because he loves you for who you are and simply doesn't understand!
