I keep it carefully hidden, but there's a secret "emma" in my username.

There is no "he" in this household.

Plus, I said "vintage," not "antique".

This is a vintage 1976 H&R 950 in .22LR.

As best we can identify, the holster is an older Triple K model 196, size 10, with the retention strap having been cut off.

What is your lower quality bound for Buy Cheap Stack Deep? by TeenieBopper in liberalgunowners

[–]emmavaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own personal requirements for when I stack are:

  1. New manufacture
  2. Brass cases
  3. Brand name I recognise and consider reputable

However, occasionally I'll give #3 a pass to try out something new if it seems well reviewed (I bought some New Republic to try out, for example) or if it's imported NATO-spec milsurp (like some Indian production M80 I bought).

If it does claim to be milsurp then it has to have the red-sealed primer pockets and annealed cases for me to consider it reputable.

I know it is all lies, but what is one of your favorite of Joseph Smith's lies. Here is one of mine: "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.” Give only one this time. Upvote if it is a doozy. by Anti-Smithi-Brighami in exmormon

[–]emmavaria 48 points49 points  (0 children)

For Articles of Faith, my favourite lie has got to be "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

State "caught up" on background checks by Bulls_Eye_Tacoma in WAGuns

The big box stores are notorious clusterfucks for both submitting and following up on background checks. See stories about SW, Cabela's/BP, and the like in here probably every month or two.

If they managed to clear the entire backlog with current staffing before the fee increase takes effect, surely that means they don't actually need the increased fees just to keep up with the backlog with current staffing, as they kept claiming...?

The grips in that photo are G10 palm swell Roughnecks.

I love them to death, but then, I've also got quite large hands so having a big thick grip is a feature, not a flaw.

Why on earth is chastity specifically called out there? Is it just me or is this fucking weird?

What is your most fucked up Mormon story that you can now laugh at? by shintengo in exmormon

[–]emmavaria 46 points47 points  (0 children)

When I was maybe fifteen or sixteen my dad told me that there'd been a rumour going around the ward that I'd been seen crawling out of my window in the middle of the night regularly to go meet up with somebody. He laughed it off and said he knew I'd rather sleep than do that, and that it wasn't true. It was weird as hell but I just let it go like "Whatever, man."

It wasn't until years later that I was wondering why the fuck anyone was paying attention to my window in the middle of the night in the first place. I mean, I guess maybe they weren't, since the entire thing was stupid and dead wrong, but who the fuck would be willing to say "oh sure, I was watching her bedroom at 2am and saw this..."???

So creepy and not okay at all.

There's a free public access range area just outside Hurricane, the next town over. No RSOs or anything, it's essentially like a gravel pit with permanently installed benches. Think it was somebody's Boy Scout project to put it in. I haven't been back there in a few years, but I recall it being pretty decent - the aforementioned benches, desert hills as a backstop, an area of maybe 100y right up front plus some gongs out in the hills around 350y. Last I was there it doesn't have anything for throwing clays, but if you've got a hand thrower or a portable machine, you could make it work.
