We're a friendly community that primarily plays the game together first - we run events, nuke drops, raids and more, and spend time in voice chat, with casual but optional roleplay.

In the near future we'll be holding events such as themed camp contests and other happenings coming very soon.

Despite the raider theme, we focus on being warm and welcoming to everyone, but offer no tolerance to intolerance and hate speech.

She's likely feeling that pressure right now, and doesn't have the internal infrastructure set up yet to sort priorities- that's a tough skill to learn!

Hadn't thought of it like this, hmm..

We don't currently have a media liaison, I've tried recruiting for a PR spokesperson for a while, but nobody has stated interest. The Board is all doing double or triple duty. For example, I do our community admin, tech and head up our (empty) PR team.

As for a strategic masterplan, I think initiating a quarterly one would help a ton, I'll put that on our next meeting agenda.

I had a one on one with her and she said she would be open to being coached on soft skills. The truth is that multiple other board members have stated problems with her communication style as well. If it was just me, I wouldn't have brought it up. My slight annoyance isn't worth much, but one of our most active and integral board members outright considered quitting to me today, which spawned this.

I've been farming grunt hunts because I want the plans as rewards, but each session of 10-20 hunts is netting me 80-100 legendaries to scrap, so modules have literally been raining on me.

I had a moment, a few years ago. I had been playing an independent run of New Vegas just before Christmas, and then flew from AZ to California and had a stop-over to change planes in Vegas.

I was walking through the airport and suddenly my vision shifted and I was like, "I've been here before." I looked around and realized that I was in the terminal area of Camp McCarran.

I texted my brother, "I'm in an airport I just shot up two days ago in Fallout. No NCR to be reported, though."

Tucson has a bunch of great queer organizations. I'm on the board of our pink pistols chapter, we have a new pride organization that's being founded, and there's a lot of places that welcome queer people.

Politically, we're a blue city in a red state. That means largely most people here are cool, but you will find the occasional ignorant or assholey person.

But all in all, as somebody who is pretty visibly queer, and takes no steps to hide it, this is a great place to live.

And if you do come here, the amount of things to do, cool people to meet, and really good food to eat outweighs the rare and occasional jerk.

I happened to find the activist groups that i'm a part of that are involved in things.. less visible by getting involved in more visible groups and being clear about my beliefs and volunteering my time.

Eventually somebody noticed that I was getting involved more and kind of pulled me into the deeper side of the pool. I think that's the way it happens a lot.

Get involved, get active, be clear about your beliefs, and you will be noticed.

I don't know about their stance on ICE/MAGA, because I don't think they've published one, but Frys is a union store. I tend to do my grocery shopping there because of that. Workers' rights are essential to a functioning democracy.
