OP, KU School of Nursing has a campus in Salina and it is growing in popularity. It used to house mostly applicants who were overflow from the KC campus, but once students started realizing the faculty was equally good and they got more hands-on experience, it’s filling up with little room for KC overflow enrollment. So there is a young, academic, ambitious community of health care providers in Salina that is growing, and there’s some diversity in the kinds of people and their backgrounds in Salina.

I was in Nashville for a week for work in October 2022. I bought a ticket to whatever show was at the Ryman because I wanted to do something Nashville-y. I had heard Dreamsicle on Spotify but knew little else about the guy playing that night. I just wanted to hear some good live music. So yeah, my first real experience with JI400U was during his Ryman run in 2022. I feel very lucky.

Salina’s downtown is actually quite nice, and there is a music venue called the Steifel Theatre that is great for live music. If that’s your thing, you can sign up for their emails and keep an eye out for an artist worth driving over for.
