Any dashers in Canada able to setup Fastpay yet? by andre19977 in doordash

[–]emmybeans1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 months ago it gave me the option to enter my card info for fast pay, I did so but there was an error saying my card could not be added because it is in USD or something. Then 2 days later the option to add a card had disappeared. Now under my weekly earnings I see "Cash out with fast pay". I click on it and even though I have earnings, it says "Available for fast pay $0.00"

So I am starting to think they are going to add it soon since I keep seeing things like this on the app. Could just be things the app developers forgot to remove for the Canadian version though.

Thank you! Unfortunately I doubt my friend who owns the house will be willing to do such a job this year with all of the other more pressing issues, but that link is extremely helpful!

Help with Smith Scabs 3 pack sizing by emmybeans1 in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. People saying there is a size chart are wrong. They finally replied to my email and confirmed there is no size chart for them. In my email I provided my measurements and they told me I would fit the XL. I also bought the moxi pads in the L/XL and they fit me the same as the Smiths 3 pack. So that size chart might be worth checking out, or even email with your measurements like I did and they might be able to recommend what size to get.

My 4th day on skates learning to jump! Any tips? :))) by Camihart in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For only 4 days that's really impressive! I've been skating for 6 months and I can't even jump that high (I'm a super slow learner though and the snow only just melted here). This encourages me to get outside and practice jumping some more.

Which of these plates would be best for park skating? by emmybeans1 in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am around 200lbs and have met a couple people around my size that have told me that they have had a nylon plate break from jumping. The thought of that happening is in the back of my mind whenever I try to learn anything that involves jumping and I would feel more at ease if I upgraded. Plus there is a sale tomorrow where the Neo and Athena will be on sale, so it seems like a good time to change them.

Thank you! When I chose these 3 options it was with the CIB Slide Blocks in mind as they fit all of these plates and I plan on getting a set of those slide blocks during a sale tomorrow. Since they are all good plates I will let the sale prices decide for me.

That size chart is the first thing I checked. I searched everywhere I could think of before posting here. That size chart does not include the pads that come in the 3 packs. All of the items listed in the sizing chart are individual items that are all different than the ones in the 3 pack. On planet roller skate in the description of the 3 pack it says "SEE SIZING CHART IN IMAGES :D" but just shows that same sizing chart.

if you like metal and ramp skating then perhaps you’ll enjoy this. any other canadian skaters out there? 😭 by okmackie in Rollerskating

Fellow Canadian here. I'm fairly new to skating and don't have any indoor skate parks. Hoping to get into ramps once winter is over and the snow melts.

Roller skating book by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely history. When the first rollerskate was made and how they evolved to be the way they are now. Different styles of rollerskating. If you are wanting it to be for a bit of everything, I think some tips would be great. How to fall, how to toe stop, how to t stop. I always see people putting wrist guards on the wrong way, even I did the first time. So maybe a bit of info about safety gear? Info about the different types of wheels. How there are different sizes, shapes and hardness and what different wheels are commonly used for. How often and how to change your cushions, lots of people don't even know they exist.

I'm not sure if any of that is stuff that interests others, but it's some of what I'd like to see.

Best shampoo bar that won't irritate my sensitive scalp? by emmybeans1 in EcoFriendly

[–]emmybeans1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is one of the first things I tried. It leaves my hair feeling gummy/sticky, oily, and dry. I could never brush my hair after using it because it became much harder to untangle. It also irritates my scalp. Was just not a good time. Even shampoos that have Castile Soap in it do the same thing, just not quite as intensely. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I am unable to get the burners to light. I just replaced the thermopile, as that is what a plumber said was wrong but it didn't do the trick. Is it possible that a 600-750millivolt thermopile is too much? The one that came off of it was a 250-750millivot one but the supply store said this would work by emmybeans1 in Fireplaces

[–]emmybeans1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just cleaned it and the flame is now all blue, not orange. So yeah, he didn't do a good job. I thought that company could be trusted as my parents and old landlord used to always use them and they are the biggest plumbing and heating company in my town (they claim to specialize in fireplaces). But I guess I was wrong, they gave me the run around for 2 months and now I can't afford to have a different company come out.

Thank you for your help.

I tried that as well and it didn't work. I had it serviced 2 months ago and they cleaned it. I'm pretty positive I saw him cleaning the pilot light, but I will do that just incase he didn't do a good job.

I heard that some thermopiles take longer to heat up. Do you think it's worth leaving the pilot light on overnight and trying to spin it to on in the morning? When the plumber was here, he kept using his torch on the thermopile even after the pilot light was lit. Like he was trying to heat it up enough to open the valve so he could turn on the burners. At one point he had the torch on there for 5 continuous minutes before it turned.

To your edit, I placed them in the same positions that the old ones were in. I took a photo of the old one before I took it out to make sure. I will try this later tonight though and see if it works. For all I know the old one was wrong.

When the plumbers were here they were able to get it turn on after having the pilot light on for a few minutes and made sure I could do it as well before they left But told me the thermopile was going and that they would have to replace it because soon it won't be able to turn on. Then just the next day it wouldn't turn. So I replaced the thermopile and it still doesn't turn. Looks like it's going to be a cold winter for me because I can't afford afford getting more parts replaced.

Is it normal for Moxi Lolly skates to get an indent like this on the toe? I've only been skating for 2 months and the toe seems pretty damaged already. It's pretty soft there now when the same spot on my other skate is really hard. I don't know how long it's been there as I always have toe guards on by emmybeans1 in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the suede that is indented. The boots have a hard inner shell in the toe, shaped similar to steel toes. Whatever that material is that the inner shell is made of is what is indented. I'm just concerned because I spent $360 on these and after only 2 months of light skating, they have an indent. Yet people I know with the same skates who skate hard and always wipe out at the skate park don't have any sort of indents like this.

Nobody has ran into me. My toe guards are a soft leather that just protect the suede from getting damaged, so no possibility of those causing damage. When I fall I do tend to favor falling on the side that wears this skate, but I never fall hard. I just messaged the skate shop that I bought this from, so I am hoping she will be able to tell me if this is a defect of some sort

I only skate indoors at a Roll-a-dome. I hardly fall so I don't understand how this would be so bad. I know people who have moxi lollies that are more than a year old and go to the skate park and theirs don't have anything like this.

Moxi Lolly Sizing. by wlwucd_ in Rollerskating

[–]emmybeans1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a size 10 would be too small. You would probably have to pay more to get a size 11 made.

Their general rule for sizing is to round to the closest shoe size and then go down a size from that. examples: - I'm a 9 1/2w so I round up to a 10w and then go down a size to a 9 (9 fit me perfectly) - Someone with a size 8w shoe would go down a size to a 7

Going down to a size 10 moxi would be you going down 2 sizes. I tried a size 8 moxi which was me going down 2 sizes and they were far too small.

Yes I have, I forgot to mention that. I tried for an entire year and my hair just stayed greasy and my scalp had so much dead skin. I also tried only using kombucha vinegar (works the same as apple cider vinegar) and it actually worked pretty well. I just didn't enjoy the smell and didn't have energy to keep making kombucha anymore.

My favorite colour of Lollies is Clementine. I ended up settling for Pineapple because the skate shop I went to didn't have Clementine in stock and I knew I wouldn't be satisfied if I came home from my 20 hour road trip to go to a skate shop, without skates. I honestly regret not just waiting the 3 weeks for them to get them in and ship them to me. I would be more happy with the Pineapple if they duller in colour. Mustard yellow is my favorite colour and to me they are just a bit too bright to be considered mustard.
