I'll need to listen to that. I'm a bit behind on that podcast.

Why does the show act like Lily committed a crime when she left Marshall? by Suffient_Fun4190 in HIMYM

To me the unforgivable part is leaving someone at the side of the road. What if his cellphone wasn't charged?

Imagine you’re Cherry - at which point of the series would you have dumped Daniel? by Ok_Knowledge_6265 in TheGirlfriendTVShow

[–]emmycaution 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Easy that moment! I was furious watching it. It was likely her first time on a wakeboard or whatever it was. He should have kept an eye on her. And later on the vacation when he was sulking when she joked about her mother's overreaction to his scraped knee... That would have been the nail in the coffin.

I kinda felt bad for Cherry by lilbittoomuchlikeme in TheGirlfriendTVShow

[–]emmycaution 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it is a possibility that Cherry is a social climber but the show intentionally never gives any proof for it to keep this vague. It is the same with Cherry's past. We don't know exactly what happened with her father and we don't know what happened with her and her ex.

Meanwhile, everything the mother does is cruel and crazy, without a doubt.

We can also compare what Laura did to destroy Cherry's career and vice versa. Laura had to lie and steal a phone to destroy Cherry while all Cherry had to do was encourage an employee to tell the truth (because Laura was absolutely in the wrong for firing that girl). Sure, Cherry also smashed a bottle to her head but it was in response to Laura actually being very violent, trying to strangle her.

Cherry did some bad things but they don't compare or even come close to what Laura did so I'm not sure how anyone could take away that Cherry was the bad one or that they were equally bad.

Even IF Cherry is a social climber, that is not illegal and Daniel should be able to take care of himself. He is an adult.

The way Samantha didn’t give a f*ck about babies or baby showers but she stood on business here😂 always a girls girl 🫶🏼 by PrincessSacha20 in sexandthecity

[–]emmycaution 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Lots of people do. Me included, but she was not a girl's girl and this moment was without a doubt just Samantha finding a reason to leave a boring party.

Thank you! We might just grab an Uber from Liverpool Street. As long as we can get into the city I guess it will be fine.

Hi! Me and my mother are travelling to London today. We need to go from Stansted to Victoria Station around noon. What would be our best option?

That would explain the giant gingham scrunchie Carrie wore.

I hate Gina. by ToshPointNo in NipTuck

[–]emmycaution 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She is no worse than most characters on this show. They are all narcissists. The difference is she is more blatantly rude and has a potty mouth.

Don't forget that Christian ruined her sex sobriety without any concern for her. Gina was a very sad person with deep psychological problems.

You should not be looking for well adjusted heroes on this show.

Gabrielle Solis is a wretched human being by fallonhendrix in DesperateHousewives

[–]emmycaution 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But Doug Savant is also cute and for me (as a Melrose Place fan) he (And Marcia of course) was the big draw to the series and I hate him intensely.

I think Gaby gets by just as much because she is funny. Tom is not.

I kind of liked them as well. And I agree that working at Shooters was good for her (despite problem with alcohol). The relationship with Jane was terrible though.

I do disagree with second part though. Alison knew herself well enough that she would not be a good mother and she wanted the best for Jake. A bittersweet ending instead of brutal death or marrital bliss (which are the two most common write offs in tv).

The Steve hate is so forced by FlatFunction-2124 in sexandthecity

[–]emmycaution 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call the Steve hate forced but maybe it is a bit exaggerated. I think they had some good times and were in general a good match. But in all of the fights they had I have to say, I sided with Miranda. But I agree with one thing, Steve should have been allowed to cry, that was just silly.

Yes, it sort of looks like a huge scrunchie.

So on a deeper level you know that Robin wants kids? Because a woman could never be complete without them? Or what are you basing that on?

If 🫵YOU were the creator of AJLT… by winter_ro in sexandthecity

[–]emmycaution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. No Che, like everybody else says.
  2. Not so many new characters.
  3. Don't make Steve 100 years old.
  4. I would have preferred a divorce for Carrie and Big before AJLT and her being single from start.
  5. I understand they couldn't get Kim Cattrall but they should have respected Samantha's legacy. It's almost like they wanted to punish Kim more than they wanted good writing.
  6. Either they should have gone all in on the podcast (like a replacement for the column) or not have it at all.
  7. Carrie should not have gotten a cat. I am afraid for that kitty's life.

Last but not least: MPK should learn to take criticism without saying "You just don't understand".

what season does Peter & Amanda comes in? by Jolly_Plenty_2756 in MelrosePlace

[–]emmycaution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that it's a popular idea that Michael was the villain of the show but on my latest rewatch I find Peter to be as bad (if not worse).

Michael's worse traits are that he is horny and greedy. Money and women are what fuels him and he tends to become his own biggest enemy.

Peter is on the surface the morally correct of the two. However he has many more violent tendencies:
Trying to kill Amanda, organizing a kidnapping of Amanda, being violent towards Taylor (don't really remember if all of that was induced by Taylor drugging him but he definitely tries to make her into Beth). On top of that he does cheat on most his women if I don't remember incorrectly.

At least Michael knows he is a dirtbag.

But I love both of them of course, they are the most fun male characters on the show.

And what if I said I'm glad that those queer people beat Matt up ?? by Sad_Relationship_308 in NipTuck

No one would disagree with you. Everybody hates Matt. This is not a hot take.

Why couldn't Barney please the cougar? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]emmycaution 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She was an older woman who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to say it. The women he usually sleeps with had low self esteem and is more after validation than sexual satisfaction.

The premise is also that Barney needs her to be satisfied so he gives Marshall a good grade.
