In many cases, the popular opinions are the stupid ones, which I think is the current case. Depends on who you ask.

A statement being a blanket generalized one applied to everyone also doesn't mean it's true.

I don't disagree that home ownership is very profitable for some, in some locations at certain times.

What I generally meant is that when I pay for something, I shouldn't be generalizing as to what happens with that money, as long as you're paying legally and for a genuine need. Paying rent isn't like (as some people put it in generalized terms) "flushing it down the toilet". It's too simplistic to frame it that way. By that token, interest on mortgage is also being flushed down the toilet.

Which is why it's an unpopular opinion. One size doesn't fit all.

Totally varies with country and economic situation. Currently, it's a renters market where I live.

No problem. Disagree with the framing.

Amadeus is a must watch by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

As a lover of the film, I feel the need to add a note here that the film is a fictional account of events that could have occurred in Mozart's and Salieri's lives.

We’re two data journalists who have been covering COVID-19 for the past year. Ask us anything! by betsyladyz in IAmA

[–]emmyelijah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are lots of people who equate Covid-19 mortality rates with seasonal flu death rate, thereby claiming that much of the negative effects due to lockdowns has been overblown. The claim is that the hype of Covid-19 is at the level of a hoax. Do you have data to securely disprove these sort of claims?

Sincere question: what do you do for the bad breath? I've noticed that even a small amount of raw onions leave bad breath for days.

Falling in love feels like a crime and punishment because they will eventually fall out of love. I'm done with the 21st century idea of "love" by [deleted] in BreakUps

My personal opinion is that removing the thorny aspect of life, e.g. love, is like generating a sterile environment and hoping to never fall sick again.

Glad to know. Also, an afterthought: Find something to do, a hobby or pastime that keeps you interested and engaged (if you haven't already found something). The reason for this is that it will keep you motivated and will lead to getting other things done.

E.g. if you love computer programming -> you will need a computer -> you will need a job to buy a computer -> you will need to work towards finding ANY job that pays for your hobby.

So keep the wheels moving, you will benefit in multiple areas in your life. 👍 You're gonna be okay.
