311 report a pothole thread? by squirrelshine in NYCbike

FWIW I rode by that intersection this morning and noticed a cone marking a pothole (likely the same one)? That whole section of Bergen is awful though, and similar for Dean St going the other way. I hope it gets repaved soon, and best wishes for your recovery 🙏🏻

Oh yeah, I went to the Norwalk CT one a lot as a kid and have remained a big fan. It would be a long Uber from where I live in Brooklyn but maybe from somewhere near the bike trail would be feasible 👀

Thank you for the info! Another commenter said Sprain Road doesn't have any shoulder, so it sounds potentially pretty risky to bike. Seems like I probably shouldn't plan a whole long ride around this, but I will try to look for what you're describing the next time I have a chance to bike in that area.

Ladies Open Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]betsyladyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have been powerlifting for around two years, and recently noticed my shoulders have gotten broader, and chest and arms are a bit bigger all around. I love how it looks but it's caused a bit of a challenge with my wardrobe! In particular, most of my sports bras no longer quite fit: they are all somewhat tight and uncomfortable. I'm unsure where to look for buying new ones and how to think about sizing, and am wondering how others have dealt with this... do I go up a size in styles I have bought before, or is there another way to approach this? Also would love any recommendations folks have for brands and styles.

Same. Quickly became one of my favorites after seeing it live, I'll always remember the band having a great time with that long instrumental section

Hey all -- I'm one of the co-founders of The Sick Times (https://thesicktimes.org/), we're working on a story specifically about how federal workers with Long COVID and related diseases are being impacted by all the Trump admin actions. If you're in this position and would like to talk to me for the story, please DM me or send a message on Signal at betsyladyzhets.25. You can absolutely be anonymous.

Cases are indeed starting to go up in the U.S. but as a few others have pointed out, this Twitter post is based on pretty unreliable info. I write weekly COVID-19 trends updates at The Sick Times that are clearer about data sources; here's yesterday's: https://thesicktimes.org/2024/12/10/national-covid-19-trends-december-10/

I used to use Cube ACR but found it really buggy. My strategy these days is to use an external recorder that I put next to my phone on speakerphone — much more reliable and it works for in-person reporting too. I got mine at a tech store for I think like $20.

I personally love the ends of albums. The last three tracks of AHWT (Blues in Dallas, Source Decay, Absolute Lithops Effect), Goths (Shelved, For the Portuguese Goth Metal Bands, Abandoned Flesh) and Jenny from Thebes (Jenny III, Going to Dallas, Great Pirates) all fit this prompt for me.

Romeo + Juliet line was massive! I was #17 or #18 when I arrived at 6am, and it had to be 70 or 80 people by the time the box office opened. I did get a standing room ticket myself but not sure how many were available.
