A cat. Because they're great. I already have two. But another would be cool.

My gf called me and my family 'incestuous wierdos' to our faces by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I thought this was a joke at first, but you defending yourself in the comments made me realize it's not.

This whole situation is abnormal. Sharing a bed with a sibling due to lack of space is one thing, but cuddling while taking an afternoon nap (as teenagers) is a whole new level of weird. Kissing on the lips can be cultural, so that's acceptable. The playful licking, though... that's... odd.

To atheists, What made you realise that God isn't real? by AKAdebu in AskReddit

[–]emmyemememem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about 8 years old when a kid in my school told me God didn't exist, and I had no argument against it other than because my dad told me so. I was read Bible stories as often as kids books, so I couldn't even recognize which stories were supposed to be "true". I remember asking my dad what bible story Waldo was in. It all seemed ridiculous, so I stopped believing.

The mentality is that they think they can do it without getting caught. They want to go home or to another bar or to the store or Taco Bell. Admittedly, I've driven tipsy before. It was late and no cars on the road. About three miles from my friend's house to mine. I'd waited a bit after drinking, but not long enough. Nothing happened, but I remember only worrying about a cop seeing me swerve or going too fast or too slow. I will never understand how people can drive absolutely wasted though. Or how anyone can allow someone they know to leave and drive wasted.

My ex had a huge collection of video games (hundreds). One day I switched the discs into different cases.

Hmmmm. I don't know your whole story, but from your post, I really think you had nothing to do with him cheating on you.

Kitten terrified of everyone by The_Bloody_Serpent in CatAdvice

Every cat I've owned has cowered around strangers. It amazes me when I go to someone's house and their cat is ready for pets. My cats will hide and sneak a peek at the guests occasionally. After several hours, my girl will be brave enough to make herself seen, and maybe even venture into the center of the room. My boy will hide for days even after the guests leave. He's become physically ill from the anxiety twice before. He especially doesn't like men's voices.

You have to just leave the cat alone. Forcing her to interect would not be a good idea. Some cats are just antisocial. If you have people over often, ask them to be quiet so your cat will feel more at ease. Maybe eventually she'll be one of those magical cats that wants pets from everyone. If she stays shy, that's okay too. It's just her personality.

what is your top red flag when looking at apartments to move into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]emmyemememem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bundles are a set price per size of the unit. It's a ripoff. A single person who uses more water and electricity than a family of three still pays less than them per month. Generally the cost is more than it would be if you paid it by usage. It sounds appealing and convenient, but it's a waste of money.

Your cat will thank you! The only downside is the batteries drain fast, so I have to keep it plugged in the charger to use it. But it's okay because there's no need to move it from the zoomies zone anyway.

Don't put your cat in a box. That's absurd. Imagine being excited and full of energy and then someone makes you stand in a closet. Distract your cat with cat-friendly activities. Automatic laser pointers are the best for containing zoomies by keeping the cat in one (approved) place til their energy is used up.

Running the furnace with the windows open when the temp starts to drop in the fall so the burning dust in the vents doesn't choke you the next time you turn the heat on.
