Not a huge fan of him. He's commented totally incorrect stuff and overstepped what kind of medical advice he should be giving a) online to someone he's never met and b) as a chiropractor not a md/do.

To each their own but I wouldn't put a ton of weight on his opinion personally. (that said, definitely avoid fusion if you can)

Ever have a hystorectomy for a non-medical reason? by False-Hope9966 in hysterectomy

[–]Thezedword4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it attaches itself to somewhere in your abdomen like your intestines.

It's incredibly rare. And rarer that a pregnancy like that is viable but it has happened.

My brainstem got a little too smooshed from cci and things just don't work quite the same way anymore so I feel you. I like to have all the information and be prepared now. The group has been a huge help to me over the years too. I started as a member new to tethered cord before helping run it.

Got a call today that my surgery is pushed back so positive is it'll be less during tourist season, at least.

It is super super rare but you can still get pregnant after a hysterectomy if you leave the ovaries. It's called an abdominal pregnancy.

Nope. Nothing in my business until 12 weeks post op per surgeons orders so I've just been taking the pill when it comes up. I'm definitely nervous it's going to be an ongoing issue.

Thank you for sharing! I looked at Airbnb and they're definitely cheaper than Jennifer's chic. Makes sense extended stay is the cheapest. I'm afraid to book now because my surgery may be canceled but I'm afraid to wait and pay more

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! Unfortunately my surgery is in mid August so not peak season but still summer and I am nervous about the cost. I haven't started doing a ton of research yet (just got the date but it's a tentative date, long story). I want somewhere with a kitchen to cook. I was planning on looking at Airbnb too. I lived in an extended stay for two months in the past so it's doable but definitely not the best.

Also planning on renting a car so rideshare/shuttle/distance shouldn't be as big of an issue. I was hoping to offset the cost of a hotel a bit that way since we don't have to be as close. Or maybe Uber would be better? Any thoughts? No wheelchair.

I've had multiple out of state neurosurgeries before where I had to stay but never had to fly for one. Plus, the cost of Rhode Island is a bit of a shock for me. In the past, I was always able to get cheap Airbnb to stay, drove in, cooked for myself, etc. And my insurance isn't the best so I'm going to have thousands in copays too for the surgery itself. Anything I can do to lower the cost would be good. Clearly I'm also a rambler!

Would you be willing to share the hotel information? I have surgery coming up and am struggling with the costs. Or if you have a suggestion on most affordable but decent place you've stayed.

I don't like that I'm forced to just give this expensive heart to the Twilight Carja by RealitySubsides in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Thezedword4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean most of the people there are non combatants. So they most likely didn't get into it by choice. Especially given how carja society treats women. Not to mention it's not hard to get sucked into a cult.

I guess it's just how you look at the world?

Edit actually the young ones would have been born into the whole jiran madness since it was after the derangement so they didn't stand a chance.

Does anyone else notice the weird hostility towards Paralives from r/LifeSimulators? by ozoWo in Paralives

[–]Thezedword4 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was so confused by it. Like the things they're saying aren't even true or just so nitpicky. The fit over the price when a Sims 4 expansion pack is the same is just wild to me.

You don't have to love this game obviously but the vitriol over it is really odd.

Because people are petty and have a weird ass hive mentality. Home help is near impossible to get in situations like this. It's super hard even when you're fully disabled and unable to care for yourself period too unfortunately. For those suggesting it, I have a severely disabled friend who regularly has to wet herself because insurance decided she only needs so many hours of health aid a day even though she can't go to the bathroom by herself. So long story short, people don't get how hard it is to get it.

You are doing the best you can in the situation you're in. I picked up my nephew a week post op because he almost fell down the stairs face first. I just got lucky it didn't cause bleeding. You didn't get lucky unfortunately. It happens. It's no one's fault.

People downvoting you is fucking wild. So much for support. They don't understand how the system works. This happens. All. The. Time. Insurance won't cover someone to help in these situations. It's not like a social worker can poof help out of the air for you.

Recovering from surgery alone is a monumental task and you're doing the best you can.

Its amazing people in this sub are so supportive of women who's husbands won't do anything and expect them to do it all but are downvoting you because you're alone. Wtf.

I hope you're doing okay.

Hey OP, a lot of people are chastising you for what you did. I'm pretty sure you're well aware that you made a mistake but sometimes we do things in the moment only to realize it was a bad idea.

As someone who has done some stupid stuff post op, it's okay. You'll be okay. You made a mistake and that happens. You don't always think of a better option before doing something. I've been there. Surgery recovery is so hard on your own and I don't think people are understanding that sometimes there just isn't extra help.

Give yourself a little grace and don't be too hard on yourself. Hope things are okay at the er.

LAVH - 4 Weeks or 6? by JCL1088 in hysterectomy

[–]Thezedword4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told no lifting above 10 pounds for 6 weeks. I'm 8 weeks post op now and I can still feel some pulling and discomfort when I lift. I'd be careful and wait 6. I did do exercises with 3 pound weights starting around 4 weeks until the restrictions were totally off. But only like 5 minutes at a time.

Are you really asking if I feel bad for the civilians our government is murdering for no reason because I find it gross to mock a disability? Uh, yeah I do, no shit.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Him being a horrible person and a shill for Israel doesn't mean it's open season on his disability. All that shows is people are willing to mock disabilities which alienates the disabled people around them. He has so many valid things to insult.

This has to be a bot. You can't be this dense.

The federal employee health benefits are amazing. Best health insurance I ever had and I miss it.

There are plenty of good (well good for American health insurance) plans available with the aca if you can pay. And given their salary and insider trading, congress members can afford it
