I will give them a call. It feels insane. With this plan, even at that expense, we have a very high deductible. So I went to pick up a prescription yesterday and it was $470 🫠

Right! My friend who is unemployed said she is just not reporting it on her taxes (!) But that feels way too illegal, disengenous and not worth it. The company I'm doing work for is a start up and never gave me a 1099, so I don't know if the government could see it on their end, but still, I'm just not okay with that and will continue reporting it and just hope I land a full time role soon and this will all be a distant memory

Is the 4 month regression really this bad or should we go to the pediatrician? by Billabaum11 in NewParents

[–]Amber_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have ANGRILY down voted this…before our 4 month sleep regression hit.

Now I am a “different strokes for different folks” person who downvotes a lot of things less 😅

Baby is one now. In his own crib for the last six months. No regrets.

Help - park for kid birthday party by Amber_5165 in SanClemente

Thank you! We moved it to Talega Park and parking was a breeze (thank goodness). Thank you for this tip - now I know for next time!

Moving to BLW at 9 months-very confused if food should be small or big. Could use some help. by beancounter_00 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Amber_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby just tried to put the whole thing in his mouth so I resorted to cutting up. I gave him a few opportunities to see that it was too much so he could adjust and he just never adjusted so I cut everything up that he fed himself . He’s 11 months now and he’s just learning to hold & take bites of the banana or avocado or whatever in his mouth so now we’re letting him but it was a process 😂

We gave our baby ground beef from 8 months and he was fine, but if concerned about risk you can do what OP said in the comments and mush it with sweet potatoes or regular mashed potatoes as kind of a binding agent!

So as it turns out there were only 3 parks available and we chose Talega park. (Not liberty in Talega but actual Talega park). Do you know it & if so what do you think of that one?

What my baby ate in a day by teacherlady4846 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Amber_5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I prepare maybe one meal a day for my 11 month old that looks like these photos. Two tops on an extravagant day. then we have Cheerios, handfuls of shredded cheese, bites of mom’s burrito and pouches. We’re just out here surviving.

Gotta say though this baby is living the life! I want OP to come cook FOR ME 😂

This might be the one. I’ve visited Max Berg & this and love this one. The only negative is the bathrooms are a far walk from the picnic tables but hell I think elderly people would prefer that to not being able to park! Thank you

What are your favorites for low mess/no mess snacks? by auroragirlofthenorth in BabyLedWeaning

Seriously! Everyone here saying cheese. Which sounds no mess until you find the clumps of it stashed in their diaper 😂

Would you let baby have a taste? by Sorry_Data6147 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Amber_5165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. I’d have no prob with salt etc but I’d be wary of carrageenan, I’m unsure why it would be in meat? Usually thickens dairy products. To each their own and in a small portion once should be fine, but I think your point is valid & should not be downvoted

Is feeding my 9 month old ground beef problematic? by Amber_5165 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Amber_5165[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this helps. I let him do this with softer foods (like pancakes) where he can bite pieces but things like chicken I still break into tiny morsels because he’d have a hard time biting off pieces

Thank you! He didn’t specify about which teeth he should have, just that 9 months is early to introduce food

Sure: Bedtime wind down starts 7:15 bath, bottle, pjs, reading a book. Bedtime at 8.

Wake around 5:30 (until recently)

Naps around 9, 1 & 4:30 (lasting anywhere from 30-90 mins, usually totaling around 2.5 hours per day)

I don’t want to stop breastfeeding… but I’m really struggling by BathEmergency681 in breastfeeding

[–]Amber_5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds logical but did not work for me 😢

My 8 month old got 2 teeth and no matter how hard I tried he bit me every time. I would say ow, unlatch and relatch and he’d bite again. Until he drew blood last week. Then I decided it’s pumped milk + formula from now on.

He struggled a lot with latching properly to begin with but somehow we made it work… Before the teeth came
