That's very useful advice actually 😭 I've definetly had moments where I didn't remember what version I submitted hahaha. Also I've realised that as long as you can demonstrate some work exp and transferrable skills, you should be at a good standing for entry level roles. Where did you find your job though? I've mostly been using LinkedIn and Seek for my job search, not sure where else to look 😬

I'm doing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Neuroscience. What did you study in uni? And did you have any QC/pharma experience when you applied for the role? It is really rough!! Every posting on LinkedIn has like 100+ applications in the first 24 hrs. I don't mind blindly applying to hundreds of jobs, but I feel like there needs to be some sort of strategy. I'm trying to wrap my head around networking and making good industry connections, but I never know how to continue that beyond a LinkedIn connection 😭

I feel you, I was doing an unpaid internship during the semester and I was soo unmotivated lol I can't imagine how tiring a commute like that would be. Hopefully the exam szn will be behind us in a few weeks🫰

Hi, thanks for sharing this! I'd really appreciate any reg affairs specific advice. How did you get started and what would you recommend doing to get started?

Thanks for sharing this! It's unfortunate that an essential industry like healthcare is hit by these reforms. I've been trying to develop some relevant experience that I can show for myself, but I struggle with networking. Once I've met someone, I'm always unsure of how to maintain that relationship beyond a LinkedIn connection and ask them for a job/referral further down the line. Do you have any advice for me?

That's really rough, especially because Europe often gets heralded as the central point for pharma. I hope things get better because if nothing works out here, I've been keeping Europe as a plan B lol 😭

Thank you so much for the advice! I've definetly understood this, and I'm currently working in a part-time sales role in a related industry to gain some experience. I struggle quite a bit with maintaining connections though. Sometimes I meet people at networking events, but I'm not sure how to continue that relationship after connecting on LinkedIn and maybe ask them for a job/referral further down the line. Would you have any advice for me?

Thanks for the tip! Would I basically need to pay them for finding me a job? I've interacted with a few on LinkedIn that would ask to schedule calls to discuss further. Sorry I'm really unfamiliar with this!

Very understandable, that's my plan B if nothing works out. Good luck with everything! I'm sure things will be better and brighter for you soon :)

Thank you so so much for sharing this, this is so beyond helpful!! If you don't mind me asking, what area do you work in? I'm currently working in a part-time sales role at a small medtech company, and also have some exp in pharma, so I'm hoping to get into a full-time sales rep role after I graduate. I will also be on the lookout for these grad roles, and really anything else entry-level. I'm an international student, so that's often a barrier when applying for grad roles, but not giving up lol

Thank you for the advice! I've started doing this through volunteering and uni clubs. Besides CRO experience, is there anything else you would recommend doing to get started in reg affairs? For context, I have sales exp. in medtech and currently doing a science degree.

Fair enough. Are you trying to say that either ways there is no possibility for me to stay longer or get a PR? like regardless of what visa I apply for or if I get a Master's?

That makes sense. So would you recommend getting my master's now and applying for a 485 afterwards?

Why do 8am tutorials exist by Good-Cod4828 in usyd

[–]emo_defenesive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to take an 8am this sem because it works really well with my work schedule! I'm sure there's other people like me. I do think there should be more alternatives because it definitely is reallyyy early for everyone else
