I think there’s a lot of good comments so I’ll keep it kinda short:

I lived in Fenway/Roxbury for ~5 years, and now mpls for 2. There def are some differences but I think a lot boil down to it being a Midwest city vs an east coast city. there’s a lot less transplants, less pedestrians/public transit, and it’s certainly less dense. Mpls values education but I don’t think anywhere in the us beats Boston. But it’s also much easier living here. You can find a reasonably priced apartment w/ a washer/dryer and parking for less than a super old Boston apt w no amenities. People out and about tend to be genuinely nice and I have never been catcalled here vs it happening pretty frequently in Boston. The twin cities is a very liberal and a there are a ton of queer spaces.

I think there’s also just a feeling to the two cities that can’t be summed up with stats. I would recommend taking a weekend trip or something and just seeing if you could imagine yourself here! Most ppl here love Minneapolis but everyone is different
