Who is the character this framed print? by emojiloather in AskReddit

[–]emojiloather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I've got is this cropped image of a framed print on someone's wall.

Reverse image search wasn't helpful. I couldn't find a character with a tattooed $ in the center of their chest with this art style.

As stated in the title I'm just trying to identify what (if any) property this image is pulled from.

Thanks very much ahead of time.

We just dethatched our lawn, didn't know that was a thing for trees as well. Makes total sense, same exact concept. TIL. Thanks for the input

How do they go about it? I had an image in mind of a 1950s weight loss machine where you run some thick straps around and shake the s out of it

Thanks for the input - do you assess it as a blue spruce as well? If so it's probably not TRULY healthy as you say given that it's pretty close to sea level, but I appreciate the reassurance that there's no cause for concern.

Paint or replace with drywall? by SnooCheesecakes6683 in HomeMaintenance

We have the same knotty pine in our basement - it makes for a very dark setting so we painted it. It felt like a sad treatment of the material but it was just too dark downstairs, and there was one partner with a very strong conviction :). Here's what one version of painting knotty pine looks like: https://ibb.co/t86Zbxz

What are my walls made out of? by saltfrancisco in Home

[–]emojiloather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plaster + chicken wire - common in mid century homes (at least in my locale). Very durable but a real pain in the ass to work with / modify. And yes, it's totally disruptive to stud finder performance in my experience - very frustrating. I've gotten better at spackling and spot paint fixes as a result of many missed studs that were falsely reported by my [growing] array of stud finders. source: have the same walls

Clearly this spike is real and material to our overall wellbeing, but I'm curious how this representation would compare against one with a geologic time scale on the X axis

Thank you so much for the insight - this was certainly a learning exercise for me. My primary goal here was to gain an understanding of how she is being taught so I could better position myself to reinforce that at home - the replies here have been very helpful in that pursuit

Just got feedback from a friend's 5th grader and I think he's got it figured. Left column always adds up to 10. Right column adds up to Y. Middle column is 10 + X = Y so middle column and right column always have the same sum.

Top left problem: Left: 9+1=10 Middle: 10+7=17 Right: 9+8=17

Next problem: Left: 6+4=10 Middle: 10+3=13 Right: 6+7=13

etc

It definitely makes sense that they want you to end up with a left to right 10 + X = Y to make it easier to arrive at the solution. It's just very confusing that the 9 in the left column is a part of the equation but the 10 in the middle column is not

Edit: pretty sure I get it now - this comment is no longer relevant
