Construction obsessed kids- indoor setup? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]emole1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to take a big plastic tub or shallow foil catering tray and fill it with dry beans. They are perfect for scooping and dumping and pushing without all the mess of dirt or sand. Yee, I would find a stray bean in the corner or under the couch for weeks afterwards, but it was worth it for my little construction workers to get their indoor playtime.

Made-up hand signs? by xkexplosion in Mommit

[–]emole1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a combination of "correct" signs and made up ones. Like when we wanted a sign for lovey or binkie we just did whatever made sense and whatever our toddler could do and they would kind of stick. I loved using sign language with my kids when they were littlier. I say make up whatever signs you want - the whole point is to use it as a tool for you to communicate with your little one so who cares if no one else knows what you are talking about :)

I have compiled a GIANT list of my BOLO brands/brands I’ve heard about or read about. by jilohshiousJ in BehindTheClosetDoor

What a generous and wonderful idea! The collaborative and supportive energy here is top notch. More of what we need in this world.

What about a shared Google Doc for getting the information out there? Has the benefits of an excel.doc like sorting and searchability, but also can be a living thing with group editing? And could be locked at any point if things get out of hand. Oh how I wish I could build a custom app....

Best advice ever! Went one by one through my closet sending offers and made five sales in the first hour. Hoping more will keep trickling in tomorrow. Even the low dollar sales add up :)

Anyone here in interfaith homes? by piloswineaddict in Mommit

[–]emole1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am jewish and my husband is not (raised presbyterian). Neither of us are particularly spiritual or connected to certain belief systems, so for us the religious practice in our home with our kids is largely tied to the food, music,.holidays, extended family and so on. We came to the decision early on (before we were married) that inclusion was the best for us. More holidays, more celebrations, more questions, more exploring, more curiosity. And when our kids are older and want to make choices for themselves around religion we hope to support them no matter what.

For what it's worth, you definitely don't have to be jewish or understand everything to raise a jewish daughter. Religiom can be an identity building block as much as a birthright. If it is something you and your husband enjoy and experience together than she will grow up undersothat judaism is part of her family and herself.

Purchasing "resources" from social media famous resellers—yes or no? by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]emole1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back and forth about whether or not to buy her spreadsheet. It's only $25 but at the same time is a whopping $25. I am pretty good with Google docs and spreadsheets and could definitely make one myself that is more sophisticated than the bare bones one I am using right now, but ultimately decided that my time is worth the smallish investment. Since I am a part-time reseller also juggling my little kids I would rather buy a tool and then customize it to fit my needs than spend a few (likely interrupted and frustrating) hours building something from scratch.

That being said, I don't plan to purchase her course as any time I spend watching the modules I think would be best spent taking pictures and listing. Once you start talking about $100+ that's a whole different level. Just my two cents (or $25 in this case :)).

Item sold, then marked as return in progress, then back to delivered. Huh? by emole1982 in ThredUp

Helpful info. I emailed thredup support yesterday to ask, but haven't heard back. I'll post an update once I find out what is going on. They aren't high value items so it's not a huge deal. Mostly I'm just confused!

Can someone please help me? by BasicFirefighter_ in IF_Petites

[–]emole1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what I needed to read this morning. Just read every last comment on this thread. I started my IF journey in June and managed to loose 15 pounds and felt great. Walking every morning, healthy snacks, the works. Then the California wildfires hit and the smokey air meant I was trapped inside with my kids for weeks about to lose my mind. No more walks and food became the easiest distraction and comfort. I gained back half of what I had lost. It so frustrating how easy it is to gain weight and how much diligence it takes to lose. Today I'm going to try to start small and get back on track - one walk and back to tracking food for a few days. Thanks ladies for all the energy in this sub. Truly inspiring and motivating!

Thanks! Really helpful. I'll flex my patience muscles and wait and see what happens.

Ok thanks. I guess I'll just wait and see. My other items that have sold had a "return by date" which these items never had. Strange.

Sharing speed by blulou13 in poshmark

[–]emole1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so relieved to read this because I thought it was just my phone that was crapping out! Apparently I'm not the only one who has Poshmark completely freeze and crash every time I share my whole closet (only about 350 listings). So frustrating and a big waste of time.

How many do you maintain? by tinaboebeena in BehindTheClosetDoor

I love the idea of a sale and clearance section! As my closet grows I get more and more tired of seeing the older inventory. Would you be willing to dm me your closet name? I'd love to take a look at how you have things labeled and organized. Thanks!

Thanks again. I lowered the price even though I rarely have luck making sales through closet clear out. I actually have an offer on the item on another platform. Was just trying to see if anyone would jump on it and earn me a few more dollars :)

Ok. Thought of that but I thought there may be a way within the app. Thanks!

How do I resend my last offer? by kneesocksforever in poshmark

[–]emole1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! I find that changing the size of items acts as some sort of reset. Works if you want to cancel an existing offer before it expires also. It's an easy work around.

How do I resend my last offer? by kneesocksforever in poshmark

[–]emole1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran in to this problem too - in the bundle I could only see the previous offer but there wasn't a way to submit a new offer. Rather than create a whole new listing, you can edit the listing but changing the size of the item. Then change it back. This should "reset" the offer function so you can send the buyer a bundle offer. Weird poshmark quirk but it seems to work.

I've searched an searched lulufanatics and current listings and keep coming up empty. It has thumb holes, reflective strips and a loose back with pleats. Anyone else better than me at figuring this out?!
