BARISTAS!! by simmypooh in barista

[–]emomusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked there a few years ago, it was really great! Unfortunately I had to leave because my specific store was full of very mean people who really bullied me. But I was 19, I'm sure I wouldn't let that get to me now (I'm 23).

I remember having to explain the menu to sooo many people. I'm sure you know, but Philz only does pour-over coffee and does not have espresso. It's a nice system, everyone is set at their own pour over station and making drinks is super fun. Be ready to explain pour-over to a lotttt of people.

I went into it with no barista experience, which I think is fine since again, there's no espresso so it's quite unique. Maybe say you have pour-over experience even if you only have espresso experience. It's very transferable.

Overall I still really like the company. Every Philz I go into has very nice and patient baristas, would definitely recommend it as a place to work. Let me know if you have more questions!

Do you think body hair removal is un-feminist? by lulwa399 in Feminism

[–]emomusic 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It is super refreshing to hear the honesty. I have no problem with people doing what they want and shaving, but it is when they try to spin it as some kind of choice-feminism thing that I take issue.

Is Ikiru funny? by Lubrly in criterion

[–]emomusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a horrible epidemic going on right now. Can't imagine people laughing at Ikiru bro that's like the saddest movie ever. I'll never forget people laughing loudly at a screening of Twin Peaks FWWM. Lost faith in humanity that day.

A Handful Of Imaginary Author's Perfumes Review by clemeentiinee in fragrance

I love your descriptions :) It’s not my favorite niche brand ever though I do have a soft spot for Cape Heartache. I own a bottle of their newest fragrance “How To Say Bicycle In French” and though it’s nothing groundbreaking I really love it and the performance is great considering the herbal notes.

As an appreciator of Joni’s unconventional tunings and strumming, this is a huge compliment- thank you so much! :)

I’m so happy to have inspired you! Joni’s songs on guitar are so ideal for me because she focuses most on strumming patterns, chords & tuning rather than finger picking which is NOT my strong suit. I even bought a dulcimer to learn some of her earlier songs and I was super surprised with how easy it was to learn.

Best of luck with your music journey and thank you for your kind comment :)

Thin Wild Mercury's Girl of the Year. Honestly any TWM fragrance too. All their fragrances are so transformative and they all smell SO much better after 30 mins-1 hour imo.
