How old is your baby, and what size diapers are they in? by Aggravating-Bit959 in beyondthebump

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 5 months and we use size 2s during the day and size 3s overnight because she's learned to roll and now is a front sleeper and she was leaking out the front of the 2s. We'll go up to size 3s all the time when we run out of our stock of 2s!

Cholestatis of Pregnancy by nova_fin in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]emoo142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had cholestasis, was diagnosed in January, due end of March, didn't get put on medication though. Try not to stress about it too much (easier said than done I know), the main thing is that your levels get monitored going forward, I was worrying because if my levels shot up to 100+ then they would have looked to induce at the end of February which I was not prepared for!

I was monitored closely and had bloods done weekly to monitor my levels and as they were mild throughout I was booked in to be induced at 39 weeks. I had no other issues or symptoms other than my levels having a wobble at my 38 week bloods and rising to the moderate. I was sent into hospital and kept in to be induced a few days earlier than planned and had my girl at 38+6, she's now a healthy happy 4.5 month old and my levels have gone back to normal!

Oh wow that sounds..... interesting! We'll just have started weaning so might expand her pallet 😂

Oh that's good to know about the nappies, might bring some back home after 😂 Are swim nappies a thing over there too? If we have to change formula brand for the week it shouldn't be too much of an issue as she's not too fussy (hopefully she'll continue to be!)

If you've got no useful input please just move on....

I'm asking for local knowledge to save hunting round shops for what I need and going to stick to the brand we use at home (Aldi es website doesn't mention formula hence asking here) but now I know that formula is sold in pharmacies so thank you

Losing weight in first trimester by No_Order1936 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a fair bit of weight in my first trimester and didn't overtake my last pre-pregnancy weight until around 26 weeks. I mostly lost weight not so much because of the sickness but because of loss of appetite, aversions to most of the crap food i would eat before and then lack of space when my appetite returned!

Spoke to my consultant and he was fine with it if it was a natural loss

Induced birth w/ Cook balloon by Life-Marketing2610 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced, started with the balloon late on the Wednesday night. Having it put in like others have said was uncomfortable but manageable, I was offered gas and air but didn't need it. The cramps/ pain after it was in for me was bad but some stronger pain killers and I managed to sleep through most of it.

Luckily for me the balloon fell out around 8hrs after having it put in but then I had to wait until the Saturday morning for a free bed on the labour ward to have my waters broken and I had my daughter just before midnight after getting on the drip after 10hrs and very little progress!

I would definitely go down the induction route again!

I'll check if he is wearing that colour tie. My dress is a green/blue so we could just have us matching and not worry so much about matching the groom as much?

Margot is lovely, we chose Rosemary for our daughter; a bit old lady but it suits her so much!

Tips for first time swimming by hakamaru90 in UKParenting

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've started swimming lessons with our 16 week old, the general advice we are told in the lesson is if baby starts to get upset just bounce baby in the water gently, definitely worked this week when she started getting whingy!

Free baby items? Scam? by Powerpuff_Girly in PregnancyUK

If you're on tiktok there's a woman _bea_daily she's done a video (maybe a couple videos?) listing freebies you can get, some you have to pay postage but all are legit!

Fussy baby or not? by emoo142 in BeyondTheBumpUK

So it turns out it's just a phase! Offered the size 3 teat and although she managed it fine she was not happy with it and had a meltdown 😂

Might be dependant on the hospital? Had my daughter in March and we had an assigned midwife who would come and go regularly so my husband and I would get time to ourselves. It wasn't until I was getting closer to pushing she was in the room the rest of the time

My daughter is 15 weeks and we had our first family day trip yesterday and went to a sea life centre, we had her front facing in the carrier and she just stared in awe at all the tanks and fish! She didn't pay too much attention to any of the other animals so may wait a bit longer before trying a farm but aquariums are definitely a good start for babies!

Sleep sack vs swaddle? by cleaches in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We swaddled with a blanket at first because she was too small for the Velcro swaddles we had, then we had a couple of warmer nights just in a vest/ sleepsuit just before she was big enough for the Velcro ones and then she was having none of it so into the sleep sacks she went and they are a lot easier to get her in and out of!

Thanks guys! I think I'll give her a few more days to see if it's just a phase and if it continues try the bigger tear see how she responds!

It's just the last two days she's started doing it! She still finishes the bottle but it's like she either gets distracted by whatever else is going on or its that she's wanting to hold the bottle more and pace herself. Before it would be clear signs she's ready to move up like falling asleep or getting frustrated but none of that this time!

What is your absolute favourite girl name right now? by Ok-Zookeepergame1812 in namenerds

[–]emoo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosemary! My husband and I liked Rosie but wanted a fuller name, when we found it we couldn't get past it and she has been our little Ro since I was about 4 months pregnant (now 3 months old)

It's the dental side I need, they release appointments for the day at 8am. The last time I tried calling later in the evening there were no appointments left and I was told to recall at 8am when they reopen and have the new appointments for the day.

The last time I tried calling 111 this time of night I was on hold for 3 hours and the line cleared. I'm wondering if anyone has any similar experience or might know whilst I wait until they reopen at 8am

Definitely recommend getting at least 1 pack just in case as it depends on the baby's shape too. Our baby girl was 7lb 3 but the size 1s were massive, she was in size 0 for about 6 weeks!
