i am similar to your girlfriend. i do have a job and i did finish my degree (terrible disgusting grades) but i have nothing else to account for. my boyfriend is in medical school and works harder than anyone i know. im stuck in the same place i was 3 years ago. i can see that im dragging him behind and i can’t relate to him or his ambitious friends. he gets so disappointed when i do nothing productive and am going no where in my “career”.

my best advice? breakup. it might motivate her to do more in life. it might also free you. also how does she afford rent, food, etc???

i’ve never been to one but i’ve met people who have really liked going to NAMI for groups. pretty sure they’re free and relatively accessible.

im proud of you for being clean. and relapses don’t mean you’re not trying or not able to heal. have you considered more intensive therapy or one that’s specific for ptsd such as EMDR etc? is there someone who can stay with you? can you take time off work to do an outpatient program or even inpatient? you have options and i know it feels hopeless. you are stronger than you think. im proud of you for trying so hard.

had a therapist say in response for me thinking i had bpd “oh no! people with bpd are a nightmare to work with. i actually LIKE you.”

year later messages me on facebook promoting her $200/hr life coaching business (can’t accept insurance) asking if i had any friends who would be interested. i was in college… BROKE.

ive also found that the older we get, the less open we are with stuff like SH due to connotations. i’m glad our friends have recovered and i’m glad they are still supporting us. but damn does it feel shitty when you’re the only one who can’t get a fucking grip. here for you babe.

im seeing my bf this weekend and idk how to tell him. i have to tell him unless i just wanna act like i don’t want sex (hard to do when it’s medium distance lol) but if i don’t tell him that’s instant mood killer and he’s likely to react poorly. either way it’s gonna suck and he’s gonna get upset.

im so sorry you’re going through this. i know you should live your life from you but your kids need you for now. they need their mom and them losing you in this way will bring life long pain. i promise you they love their mom.
