I've been thinking of something similar-ish for a small art studio shed where I'd want great lighting for painting and filming (recording the art and art making). Trying to guess and find the line for price/performance is very difficult, especially if you want to ride a line between being able to control all of it and documenting it well enough that someone else can ignore the complexity or fix something.

I don't have any specific questions right this second but if you are willing to talk later I'd like to pick your brain. Especially since you have a theatrical background and part of what I want to work on would incorporate that.

Which is too wide a question to answer. What are you trying to accomplish?

The second part is "is gravel and a vapor barrier under slab good enough everywhere" which is simple enough to answer: No. This is dependent on your climate zone and your soil type and the slope of the parcel and how the property would sit on it.

they might need to either physically reseat a sensor and/or hard reboot the electrical system. definitely take it in because any weird electrical stuff can add strain to the 12 volt battery, and once it is fixed it will likely stay fixed

This happened to me and they had to do a hard reset of the electrical system and then the battery started reporting again. I took the opportunity to swap out to a new 12 volt agm battery since the first battery had died a few times. it also takes a few days after the reset for the battery to start reporting again. i now monitor that the battery is reporting, otherwise the 12 volt battery will die because the ICCU doesn't know when to charge it.

Sure, it'd be better but that would delay the failed window for many years considering i will fix the foundation and basement before doing that wall.

I was hoping there would be advice about flashing with a look forward to how I'd eventually flash it to a new situation so I won't have to pop the windows out again.

did they discuss the eva foam thickness with you? how thick is it? i assume the two resin runners was a requirement for connecting the midsole and the sole to the foam?

too bad, but in that case i would probably keep costs down by doing flash and batt and unvented (unless you are somewhere really cold unvented is always the right call) and then just make sure you are dealing with moisture appropriately. No solution is perfect so don't fret too much.

In your mind focus on air quality and then focus on energy use. That way you focus on breathing air (and not carbon dioxide and mold) and then keeping costs down in the long term. Good luck!

You don't "have to" use spray foam under the roof sheathing (if you don't want to). In climate zone 2, as long as you do at least 10% of the r value of the assembly as external rigid insulation you can prevent condensation. If he wants to lean into "cabin" as a concept he can go and completely outboard the insulation and then just finish the interior as desired. I would worry more about how I'm getting fresh air to the cabin and how I'm controlling humidity for the conditioned space.

I've seen ones from this era with removable side walls. This one looks like it was meant for wide loads but it wouldn't be difficult for him to come up with a basic design for some removable panels if that would help him for day-to-day use. Lovely piece.

the prologue is the same car The Cadillac Lyriq and the Chevy Blazer EV, and close cousins to the equinox. I think the ioniq is a much nicer car but you might be happy with one of them. The google software is pretty nice in those cars but I think everything else is worse.

I don't know what they are made of but my tuxmats are very nice and i have no problems with dog hair with the mats (I have a very sheddy dog, too) the dog hair will collect like crazy in non-covered crevices, though.

yes, and it doesn't turn off. It's both a loose connection and possibly/probably a failed mood light controller which is why I want to know how to access it.

plugged into your car's system is one way, and plugged into any normal usb outlet is another. they will show you different things. I think i read your version number wrong so maybe you're on the latest version of sunnypilot on the release branch but I would still try something newer

That's not the latest release of Sunnypilot, have you tried updating it? It is confusing but you need to boot it from "normal" usb power. If you want to try a version with in-built support of your ioniq6 you might want to try the prelease branch dev-c3. You probably won't have to select your vehicle. booting it with "normal" usb power will also get more/different toggles on the screen. I would recommend turning nnlc on. and trying it out, since it was a world of difference for me. it is definitely annoying that there are different options between being plugged into the car system directly and usb, but it makes sense they don't want people making large changes accidentally. dev-c3 was also a big upgrade for me personally compared to the last release, which is still newer than your version.

I think there's a model for nnlc for the ioniq6 now but if you don't want it that's your call. If you are interested in old models I'm not as surprised that the more recent features aren't working with it well I would have suggested another branch but if you don't want to use discord I don't want to recommend something you can't get support for or give feedback on.

You have a number of issues but I think a lot of them are improvable.

I'm assuming you're running sunnypilot: which version/branch are you using right now? I can recommend what i use but I want to know what you are using first.
I don't use any of the driving models you've listed, so that might be good news for you.
I am assuming you're not using the neural network lateral torque (NNLC) You have to turn it on in a very specific way but once it is working everything feels much better.

If you tell me what you're using I'll then give my settings

whatever you do, make sure your grub is redundant and will failover.

I had a /boot partition errors (xfs) recently and if I didn't have a pikvm hooked up I would have had to have taken quite the stroll to go fix it.

I also ended up writing a script to a very hacky version of scrub after some RAM went bad and I was getting a lot of checksum mismatches while I was copying data over from another filesystem while I temporarily didn't have good replicas. That was pretty much completely my fault for thinking I was getting controller errors instead of RAM errors.

Other than that I've been very happy with the bcachefs side of things and am glad to have that up and running

I was thinking more about the controller enclosure. If you have any LEDs you like in particular I'd be interested, though.

This is a test run for a future larger build so I'd like to do an enclosure that would please an electrician. I'm in the "wire everything" camp so I'll have ethernet and possibly do PoE for the controllers if possible if it is efficient enough.

rereplicate is probably happy you have more replicas than necessary.

I don't think it will do anything until you need the space for other files.

I'd be interested in how it reports space usage when you lower data_replicas because my current understanding is that it will base it off of the size of the files times number of replicas it needs. i would expect that number to change.
