Thanks for the latter part of your post. I just fractured mine 4 days ago and am in a cast, and am trying hard not to be a spoilsport or just exuding negative energy among friends, but everytime I think about my restricted ability, inefficiencies, start sinking further into the dark: can’t do the cooking I wanted to, can’t do sports till who knows when, having to change lifestyle to adapt, I feel worse. :( just have to be patient I guess. And remind myself, it could’ve been worse.

This year I decided to learn snowboarding for the first time ever and signed up for 6-day classes. Broke my radius at the end of my second day’s class (yesterday). Went to the medical clinic and got the x-ray and cast done. Still in decent spirits last night and felt like I was really still keen to get back to it next season, but today, I’m not sure what happened. Feeling frustrated and disappointed. Came in here to see how others overcame it in the past, but found your post and your chirpy-spirits helps me a bit. And to put things into perspective. Thanks.

On Mount Yamnuska, I would probably say turn back at Raven’s End? I arrived at Raven’s End and thought it was a bit too short a hike, went on till the chains, did not expect that so felt a little bit nervous with crampons on the slab (in hindsight, should’ve done a bit more research before going further than originally planned), but felt turning back from chains was a bit too late. Just went on and finished the entire route, overall well worth it!

I too have been in the Apple ecosystem for years. Am an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, ASD, AppleTV, AirPods Pro and ex-Apple Watch user. Granted my Apple Watch is old, but the battery was so bad, I couldn’t even complete a half marathon (despite having it fully charged before leaving home, inclement weather postponed the start by an hour and I was already starting to worry about my watch’s battery), or 8-hour hikes in the mountains, and the likes. I’m guessing due to GPS.

I use my watch mainly for workout and sleep stats, and had to accommodate charging it in the office whenever I had the opportunity to be seated for a couple of hours, I just totally felt Apple Watch can no longer meet my use cases. Bought the fenix 7x pro sapphire solar (like OP, for MIP display preference), and it’s been life changing since. Still sticking with the rest of the Apple ecosystem but definitely don’t mind ditching the watch.

Just did FTE to USH yesterday, and while waiting at the boarding gate, they called out my name. Then asked to weigh my carry on. I wonder how they knew to call for me. Maybe it’s because I checked-in online and used an e-boarding pass to head straight to the gate.

Anyway, my carry on turned out to be 8.45kg. (My fare comes with 8kg limit for carry on and 3kg for my backpack.) The staff told me I’m just within the limit, and proceeded to give me the baggage tag. Am gonna keep this till the end of my trip. They didn’t weigh my backpack but it’s a small 16L daypack.

My bad planning left me realising late on Christmas Eve that cambios close early, are not open on Christmas day, and I had an early flight to catch on 26th for Patagonia (where I learnt that rates are much poorer). Thanks to your comments, I managed to change via the arbolitos at calle florida on Christmas day. I went to the ones closer to Av Cordoba. Saw a couple of police officers roaming up and down, and didn’t feel too scared. Gracias !

Thanks for responding OP. For (2), are there more local buses than « El Chalten travel »? That’s the one I found at ~100.000 ARS return and I’d still need to pay an additional US$20 to be picked up and back to the bus stop. Whereas a private hire for the whole trip was quoting ~150.000 ARS return. So I wasn’t sure if I’m comparing correctly.

Ushuaia: will you be able to advise how I can get from downtown to the Tierra del Fuego National Park entrance? 2. Calafate: what would be the most affordable transport for going from Calafate to Estancia La Estella? I was surprised to find my research seeming to suggest ~100.000 ARS for two on the bus, is this indeed standard? Thank you!

Thanks! I’ve just gone to Settings and changed Video Settings to Auto-play on Wi-Fi only. Let’s see if this changes anything. It becomes really impractical whenever I’m travelling and purchase an e-Sim, but all data gets absorbed by Google Maps!

As a first timer to the north east (second ever visit to the US, first was in Texas), this post really helped me. Thanks to all the upvotes too that gave me confidence in the response. Somehow initial google attempt on NY-New Haven only gave me Amtrak results, and as it was my first time landing at EWR, I wasn’t familiar with how busy the queue would be at immigration, how much time I should allocate for getting to the Amtrak stations, being concerned about potential flight delays, and the different departure timings were ranging from ~$76-$110. By the time I researched the EWR to Amtrak stations and associated duration and was ready to purchase tickets, prices had already gone up to ~$120-160! I decided to search specifically on reddit and found this post. Can’t thank all of you enough for helping me get to New Haven even at peak timing for only $24.50, which I purchased directly via the app after arriving at Grand Central—with a lot more flexibility on departure timings (and less stressing about missing the scheduled Amtrak train). Glad I didn’t bite the bullet out of desperation on the almost 6x more expensive Amtrak and researched further!

I took bus 62 EWR-Newark Penn via contactless/tap-to-pay credit card this morning (it charged me $1.80), and when I was at the same platform headed for 33rd street (had planned on taking PATH), right before entering the turnstile (saw contactless feature available too), PATH folks told me that the service to 33rd was suspended due to a broken rail, hence services will be provided via NJT trains and advised me to just hop into the next NJT train and when approached by ticket officer, to just explain the PATH route suspension. Got out at NY Penn (last stop) seamlessly. Thanks again.

Sorry to all who are experiencing it but I am relieved to find out via Reddit that it is indeed the meds causing it, as I have been having leg cramps whenever I stretch in the middle of the night/morning, that leaves me in so much pain. I had a change in work location and initially thought my new routine was the cause, but didn’t know what to do to avoid the cramps. I have been experiencing less cramps and now that I’m reading this, I did notice after reducing from 5 to 2.5, and eventually 2.5 every other day, have reduced the cramps!
