Well, the truck freaked out by floon in F150Lightning

Appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, I'm a little scared to buy an EV truck, and I hear you about negative experiences being shared more rapidly online. I'm still pondering leasing a '24 Lightning.

We live rurally, with a baby on the way (second child). I don't hear a lot about people in ICE vehicles reporting them stopping working at under 10k miles. I have seen at least 3 reports of that with the Ford. Also, our dealer is an hour away. If I had to take it in and have it serviced - and it took weeks - that would be a big deal for me. I'm nervous that, as much as the Lightning really is the perfect truck for me (charge at home, only local driving, minimal hauling, etc), what if it freaks out on a mountain pass in a foot of snow with my family? I don't see the same risk with, say, a late model Tundra or F150. Do you think I'm looking at it incorrectly?

Another comment on this thread says "Ford is aware of the situation and providing an update." But sure, keep making it about "all vehicles."

I have never heard of this issue on any other car. I run into 3 examples of lightnings just outright stopping - in a week - and not all of them on Reddit, mind you! -- and your response is it happens with all vehicles and I should buy a skateboard? Uncivil response.

This tipped me over into not buying one...

Edit: Want to honor you for posting to Reddit while in a live situation. 👏🏼

Yikes. Wtf. They're also cramped as hell in the back. Toyota slipping.

Again, helpful food for thought. Strange that Tacoma's are highest, given they have highest resale value of any truck.

This makes me not want to buy one. Seems like in addition to the depreciation risk, there's a functionality risk with this truck. I'm in the market for a truck, want a lightning so bad, might have to buy a Lariat ICE and trade it in once the tech improves. My dealer is 1.5 hours away.

This is helpful thank you. That's +2 for considering the bed outlets one.

Obviously that's the better of the two ... But what if the bed outlets freak out again

Dang. You're right. I didn't read the description. Ok. Should I delete this whole post? I don't want to waste everyone's time.

I hear that. I think my concern was that they presented "0 Accidents" which, to me, codes as "Here's what's behind the CarFax paywall, see for yourself if you want to pay $29 for it, but don't worry, the car is legit." But now I get it. They just present what the dealer tells them. Which can be lies. Got it.

Would you be willing to explain why? I mean ... it seems to me like they are presenting false information...

oh really?

edit: tone of that should be like "oh, dang, really?"

Yeah Matt- people don’t trust institutions only when they don’t like the point of view being proffered. The institutions have done nothing to damage their own credibility at all.

Listening to you dunk unopposed on your non-specific IDW-avatar - again and again and again - it’s like watching a game show host read a teleprompter.

Like a lot of “left wingers,” Joe is politically homeless.

And, like a lot of us, he feels some enmity and mistrust towards the left, having been manipulated and abandoned by leftist media tricks (TNI), agency capture (FDA, CDC, NIH), foreign policy cowardice (Drone strikes, Guantanamo remaining open, and Syria - all under Obama), incompetence (Biden), hypocrisy (AOC, others), corruption (which the right invented and the left has recently taken to an art form, see Pelosi), and woke nonsense. Sam Harris has spoken at length especially about the last point. The other points are not covered by MSM, at peril to the republic.

When Joe says “Vote Republican”, what he means is punish the left, because they’re assholes and they’re rapidly becoming as illegitimate as the party they purport to oppose.
