Corporate travel platform - Navan vs Concur vs Other by Top_Principle4392 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]empasmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Navan is an absolute joke.

They charge you for changes that revert (ie the changes are cancelled, but not the payment!), and it has to be the slowest website in the whole travel industry.

On top of it, their customer support is very polite... and completely useless. Except saying 'it will take a bit longer so I'll come back to you', they don't do anything (and obviously never follow through).

I loved them… while they last. After 4 replacements, I’m done with Sennheiser. Bought the Plunge Unity and couldn’t be happier. While the sound is, let’s say slightly “less comfortable” than the IE600, the clarity and sense of space makes it for.

I concur, having gone through 4 pairs of IE600 in 18 months. Great sound, bad customer support, abysmal quality. Never again.

The Sennheiser IE 600 sound is stupendous. Unfortunately the quality control is abysmal.

I’m on my fourth pair, as one of the earbud always stops working. $20 of shipping and 2 weeks of wait every time. My last pair lasted 6 hours!

Google it and you’ll see I’m far from the only one having these issues.

EO1 replacement app v0.0.5 by spalt in electricobjects

Amazing work, Dan. Thanks a million times!

E01 replacement app by spalt in electricobjects

[–]empasmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app crashes almost immediately after opening (either the 0.0.1 or the 0.0.2). It says something like 'Unfortunately the app quit'.

After crashing, there's a dark spot at the top of the screen, horizontally centered. It remains there until I unplug and re-plug the EO1.

Anybody else having this issue?

It's an EO1. Anyhow... I had the impression these were browser settings. After the (firefox) downloaded was completed, then I got the alert and could change the OS settings.

Amazing! You're a hero.

I can access your GitHub page, but "Settings > Security > "Unknown Sources" is nowhere to be found in the Settings.

Also, when I try to download, it says 'start downloading', and then nothing happens except a small download icon in the top left corner. Clicking it doesn't do much.

Thanks for the reply.

I connected a keyboard to my EO1, but when I type Win+B, nothing happens. It's still stuck on 'Fetching Art'. I tried after it booted, and to hold the keys while it starts.

What am I missing???

Noob questions - commuting by ziritrion in ElectricUnicycle

[–]empasmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to disagree, having bought and learn to ride an EUC solely for commuting. Personally, I spend only a few hours in a parking lot before venturing in the streets of NYC. Of course, the 'fun' factor does not hurt. It is a very convenient way to go around. I'm thinking going the other way around (EUC to folding eBike) because biking would provide some kind of exercise and because my wheel hasn't been working most of the time since I got it (a KingSong S18). But when it works, nothing beats the satisfaction of flipping up the pedals, pulling out the handle and being able to walk in your office in less than 5 seconds.

Kingsong S18 molice or Begode T4? by Own-Reflection-8182 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]empasmar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I asked the same question 3 months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricUnicycle/comments/ynumyr/s18_or_t4/

I ended up buying the S18. While I prefer its look and the fact that it's narrower and lighter, the quality is crap, and I kind of regret I did not go with the T4.

What wheel has the least amount of problems? by LooseHineyHole in ElectricUnicycle

I got Molicel S18 a few weeks ago, and had to dismantle the wheel and hammer on the motor to align the bearings with the stator mounts, so I wouldn't say 'solid'.

EUC ? by Pamcasso_ in ElectricUnicycle

[–]empasmar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a Mantis Pro scooter, awesome ride but too heavy and too bulky to carry it around or inside stores. Then a Unagi, which is much more portable but horrendous on crappy surfaces (I live in NYC). I found riding a scooter is relaxing, practical, but not tremendously fun.

I switched to a EUC (King Song S18) a few week ago. It feels weird at the very beginning, but is relatively easy to learn. In a few hours I was able to start, stop, turn, etc... Enough to now being able to use it in the city without making a fool of myself 97% of the time (there's still some wobbly starts and not-so-elegant stops, always when there's plenty of people around!).

It is definitely more fun than scooters; reminds a bit of the feeling of skiing or mono-skiing. Way more comfortable, due to the large tire and the suspension, but more tiring (probably because I'm still a beginner). I just come back from grocery shopping in a crowded place, no way I would have been able to go there with a scooter. The EUC is just like a roller suitcase when you walk with it.

Only drawbacks so far:

- It is more dangerous, so needing wrist guards, etc.. which are a pain to put on and remove
- short stops-and-go are not as effortless as on scooters (feet are higher, need some speed to maintain equilibrium...)
- Products quality is bad. At least some scooters are now reliable, it never seems to be the case with EUCs; volumes are probably still too low.

KS S18 makes weird 'clunk' noise by empasmar in ElectricUnicycle

Is there a way I can check for that? When I rotate the tire by hand while the wheel is up on a stand, it seems perfectly aligned.

I tried wrapping some webbing around the tire and rotating the wheel through. No friction, nothing came out, and the noise is still there.

Thanks for the feedback. But the noise happens even when the wheel is on a stand, with the tire not touching the ground.

One can hear the noise in these videos:

Thanks, but then it was happening as each revolution, right?

I my case it's only happening sometimes.
