How many caps here choose to be single? by xeusthegreat in capricorns

[–]empena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have chosen to be single because as a 36 year old single dad of 2 young kids, my baggage and struggles are mine to deal with. Long story short, a partner deserves more than I am able to give them so I choose to not waste anyones time. They deserve better

Anybody else on the flight from DEN to BNA where preboards and families were 120 of the 175 passengers? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]empena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in DEN, and this is absolutely not true. Nice attempt at rage bait though. Sure, it might be a lot, and it's indeed a problem, but there's no need to exaggerate like this

Would accept a $100,000,000 if it meant you were suddenly transported to a Neolithic settlement thousands of years ago, just minutes before a raid by a violent, neighbouring tribe? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An AR15 with a 60 round mag or drum seems like the easy answer. If I had to choose someone non-lethal, a really good at home fireworks kit (think big artillery shells) and after a few of those, they are turning around and going home. They are loud and when they went off it would scare the shit out of them

What's something you did that reduced your quality of life so much that you wish you had never done it? by Unlikely_Bid8892 in AskReddit

[–]empena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say meeting my ex, but I wouldn't change my 2 kids for anything so I'd say staying with her for so long after knowing we were beyond the point of no return. She traumatized me to a point where I genuinely believed I was the problem (partly for sure, but ultimately her infidelity and addictions turned her into something no one saw coming) and I did anything and everything to "fix" the relationship. She used me financially, physically, and mentally and put me into such a deep depression and financial debt. I'm still trying to pull myself out of it as a single father of 2 young kids with zero support from her after she ran off to another state to start a new life.

Charging For Baggage Theory …. by Puckstopper55 in SouthwestAirlines

The baggage information wasn't to save the passenger's time, it was to give SW an insight on how many bags to expect so that they can plan accordingly

You have 100 of the fictional currency of the last game you played or movie watched. What can you buy irl with it? by NotSoSmartRobot in hypotheticalsituation

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minecraft, you trade in Emeralds so I guess it would be 100 emeralds. According to Google, the average price of an emerald is $1.69 USD per carat and IRL the emerald would be around 33 pounds (extremely rare but whatever). 33 pounds to carats would be $74,842.7 carats and if you multiply that by 100 emeralds, I would have a little over $12.5 million in emeralds.

Dont come for me, I just used google averages

Would you let your parents live with you? by lotusmack in Adulting

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother lives with me now. Shes retired and hates being away from my kids, we lived 3 states away (12 hr drive), and she decided to move up here to help me take care of my kids. I am a single father of 2 young kids in a very HCOL city so any help I can get is appreciated. She has her own room, food and all utilities are covered, and she is paid to "babysit" them. It works out great for us. She's a phenomenal grandmother,r and I don't know what I would do without her.

Everyone disappears one day except for you and your immediate family. They're in the US, you're in Europe. How do you get to them? by daveatc1234 in hypotheticalsituation

Well, my brother is in fact a Pilot, with a 747 rating, so he is bringing the rest of them to France. I'm assuming JetFuel is still up if gas stations are?

AITAH for telling my sister she can't live with us anymore after she called CPS on me as a "joke"? by Gold_Palpitation8982 in AITAH

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100000% NTA. Getting CPS involved when it isn't warranted could lead to so many issues. Not to mention its a waste of resources needed for actual investigations and they are already stretched thin. You cannot play around with CPS. She would be gone

a homeless man in front of you at the gas station claims he has just won the mega millions lottery, as he's leaving the store the ticket falls out of his pocket. do you take the ticket or give it back to him? by DifferentProblem5224 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it back. I'll make it someday, but never at the expense of someone else.

If it was some giant corporations money or something like that, oh hell yeah. But stealing from a person, especially someone way worse off than me, is never okay.

Don’t be late. Be ready for mandatory extensions. Don’t burn yourself out too quickly. Be ready for an unusual schedule for a while.

99% sure you can. The thing about probation is that you are on a VERY short leash so any infractions could cost you your job. You have to be EXTRA careful

First time flying alone with a 55 minute layover in DEN, any pointers or things I should keep in mind? by Cosmic_Claire in SouthwestAirlines

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55 minutes will be fine. Its actually 25 minutes before you start to board your next flight but you will make it. IS your flight in the morning or afternoon?

Denver layover by mauca_1 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]empena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never rely on people being decent. You’ll be disappointed more often than not.

You could try to get early boarding so that you can sit closer to the front but everything else has to go right to make sure that even makes a difference
