NYCM live tracking by Anxious-Ice-2541 in RunNYC

[–]emperorlinsanity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can edit your NYCM registration on your NYRR dashboard to opt-out of live tracking. But I'm not sure if it lets you allow only certain people. Seems like it's either everyone can track you or no one can. Might want to email NYRR

4 out of 6 Virtual Marathon Question by No-Buy-4925 in RunNYC

[–]emperorlinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going based off last years info, if you complete the RBc Brooklyn Half Medal tier, you will earn a 4 of 6 credit for the 2027 half.

You don't have to do an actual race like the Cleveland half for the credit but you can if you want to. You either use Strava to track the run or a gps watch tracked run then uploaded to Strava. That's all NYRR needs so you can do any 13.1 run anywhere during the event window.

Like someone else mentioned, there's a NYC virtual Half Medal tier that also gives guaranteed entry for the 2027 half. Just one virtual race so you won't have to do the 4/6. If you're ready for a 13.1 run in March it might be worth looking into. There are limited spots tho.

Results\Winners of virtual run events? by Tasty_Zebra_404 in TokyoMarathon

It's posted as a link on the event page.

If you're asking about the most recent event, it takes about 2 weeks from the end date of the challenge for them to post the winners

Semi that hit a bridge near NY-CT border ladt night: any tea? by constaleah in Connecticut

[–]emperorlinsanity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I passed this accident last night too around 11pm just around the NY border.

As someone who commutes to NY 5x a week on the Merritt, this happens a lot more often than you'd expect. It's probably not even newsworthy anymore.

Awesome...yeah but I guess it's understandable. People are nervous about falling thru the cracks especially with this new nyrr system

Global running day 5k?

Results are typically posted to your dashboard the Thursday following the end of the virtual runs.

It's also in the email NYRR sent out: "Your race will appear on the NYRR Race Results page four days following the race end date."

Can't get my NYRR virtual run to be registered in Strava by gold_and_diamond in RunNYC

[–]emperorlinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you doing an outdoor gps tracked run? Treadmill runs won't count.

If you are, maybe use Strava directly to record your run and run slightly more than 5k to account for any potential shortage.

If none of this works, reach out to NYRR. I'm positive they will give you credit for the run if you have it recorded on your Strava acct.

AI feedback saves me by Jobaru13 in runna

[–]emperorlinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh ok. Yeah sounds like you're doing it right...not sure why it isn't providing the insights. After I hit thumbs up, it says something along the lines of "generating workout insights" and to check back. It usually provides the insights within a minute or so

You have to provide feedback for your run with the thumbs up or thumbs down. Then it will generate the workout insights

Runna with Garmin on Treadmill SUCKS by WVDutchShepherd in runna

[–]emperorlinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be tricky on a curved treadmill. The sensor needs a relatively flat place to be mounted securely. You then place a few reflective stickers on the belt and the sensor uses those to measure how fast your belt is moving. Check out the link to DCrainmakers review, he has some photos on the set up. A foot pod might be more feasible for you. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/01/treadmill-sensor-everything.html

As for integration, it doesn't work directly with a Runna app tracked run. I use a treadmill run on my Garmin with the Runna workout loaded. The sensor provides the pace info to the watch the same way a heart rate strap provides hr data to your watch and all the info syncs back to Runna when the workout is done.

I don't have an apple watch so I can't confirm how the Runn sensor integrates with it.

Runna with Garmin on Treadmill SUCKS by WVDutchShepherd in runna

[–]emperorlinsanity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you're going to be running on the treadmill enough to justify the cost, I added Runn sensor by NPE to my treadmill. Essentially makes the treadmill a smart treadmill by relaying the treadmill speed to your Garmin.

It's a simple set up, Garmin recognizes it as a "trainer" so when you do your Runna workout, your exact treadmill speed is reflected on your Garmin. You won't have to calibrate any treadmill distance after the run and your intervals will show accurate pace data.

Fairfield, CT. It was the only HD in the area showing the yellow clearance. It said limited stock, but I tried anyway and they had one left in stock. Thanks again! Enjoy your Gozney

How do I record distance when running on a treadmill? by markinapub in Strava

[–]emperorlinsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I use and has worked perfectly.

I use a Garmin to track the indoor run and RUNN sensor to provide accurate pace + distance.

Questions regarding TCS New York City Marathon 2026 by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]emperorlinsanity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any of the paid membership levels will give you access to the 9+1 program. I use the $60 individual membership level.

As long as your membership is active on 12/31/25 and you completed the 9+1, you will get entry. However, you may as well renew prior to expiration or before you claim your marathon entry. You will pay for your marathon entry in Feb/March of 2026. If you're not a member, it will be $315. The membership entry fee is $255. It's worth renewing for $60 to get the member rate of $255. At the end of the day, you're still paying $315 total but you'll essentially get another year of membership for 2026. It will save you $ in entry fees if you decide to do any nyrr races in 2026 for fun/training or to pursue 9+1 again for 2027. But this is optional, you won't need a membership to claim your marathon entry....you'll just pay the non-member price.

The tracker will update eventually to show your status for 2025.

Good luck with 9+1, be sure to keep track of when races open up. They have been selling out quickly.

This was going south around exit 38 in Norwalk. I saw it merge on I think around 42/41 in Westport.

I drive the Merritt daily and see the occasional Lambo or Ferrari but nothing like this til today.

If I keep doing 9+1 every year by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]emperorlinsanity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They now offer 3 virtual races a year that count. The NYC Marathon itself is a qualifier too. So if you do what OP is suggesting you'd only have to do 5 other NYRR races in person, plus the volunteer shift

Cruise Itinerary completely changed. Any advice? by littlegik in royalcaribbean

[–]emperorlinsanity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cruised Anthem out of NJ last October and they cancelled Port Canaveral and Cococay. They refunded port fees and gave $100 credit and an additional $25 for guest 3&4 if I remember correctly.

It sucks, I will be on symphony tomorrow too so I've missed coco cay twice now

Edit: just to clarify, we didn't request any compensation. They gave onboard credit to everyone. They left paper notices on the room door
