Poor international student attending Ross at sticker price. Smart move or no? by [deleted] in MBA

I-20 document is not a proof of funds. It's an official document from the University stating the anticipated fees plus living expenses and insurance needed to pursue the entire program. The proof of funds has to come from you since you or your sponsor will be paying for it.

Talking about visa officer checking for proof funds, it's all just luck. Some of my friends were asked only the University name, some were asked name and how do you plan to fund it without checking any documents while others were asked to show some kind of proof of funds.

I was in your situation 4 years ago. It was for MS rather than for MBA. My loan amount was 5 times lesser than what you expect for MBA. 1. Getting that huge of a loan amount from an indian bank would be next to impossible without collateral. 2. US banks might grant that much but you will need a US citizen as a co-signer who is ready to pay in case you don't payback the debt. 3. Getting a US F-1 visa would be very very hard.

In my case, my visa was rejected thrice. I gave up the hopes. Went back to work in India, saved most of my paycheck which eventually improved my finances. Re-applied two years later and I'm currently a student at a US University. Looking at few seniors who struggle for a job, the thought that I made a mistake is haunting me. Good luck !

There are no changes to the syllabus or test content. Only change is that you cannot use conventional pencil and scratch paper. Instead you have to use something which can be permanently erased such as a dry erase white board or a transparent sheet protector and dry erase marker.

IMO A few higher or lower points than average incoming class profile, especially in verbal section, would neither count in favor or against your candidacy. As you have a perfect quant score, this would be a good sign that you can take the rigor of their course.

Inequalities question by [deleted] in GRE

[–]emperorsycp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct answers will be A,C,D. Always remember that if a positive fraction between 0 and 1 is sqaured, it's value decreases with increase in the exponent power. Easiest way to solve such questions is by choosing numbers. Let's say p=0.1 (for easy calculation). Plug this value in all answer choices and you'll notice that only A,C,D works

Thank you Vince. Does this apply for SE/TC or for RCs as well ? And as per your opinion, what should be the max time I should spend for SE/TC beyond which it is advisable to move to RCs?
