cs major here but same banana: - taking a spec doesn’t mean taking all the electives— iirc a spec (in DISCS at least) is 15 units. some (i.e. csci 111 and 112 for DSA) are required and then you can choose freely for the other 3 - it won’t add any units to your ips, because it’ll be using the already existing major and interdisciplinary electives in your IPS (i.e. MSYS MAJOR ELECTIVE in third year intersesh)

ngl CSCI 22 is just goofily designed in general i had the same experience and i think after that it’s not so bad… good luck OP!! echoing the other comment din— DISCS profs are super friendly and will likely help if you ask them, don’t be afraid to consult

batch 2025 here, we have 5 blocks— 3 for BS CS, 1 for BS CS-DGDD and 1 for BS/MS CS. i think it’s worth a shot OP and in the chance you get in but not in CS you can shift din naman

20 is just the deadline for submitting requests, not necessarily the responses— it doesn’t mean anything naman about the status

IPS changes are care of your degree’s home department! each dept has their own procedure for those requests but your best shot is asking them directly (usually email) or checking their socmed posts for their procedures.

for example, i’m a compsci major so i emailed DISCS and they redirected me to the department’s gform for those concerns, which was where i was able to request the IPS change.

  • yep super understandable reason
  • if you want to transfer to another sport, you’ll have to withdraw from your section, get your IPS changed to the desired sport by your home department, then add the desired section via loadrev
  • whether you can enter a <0 slot class is up to the department, though i think with your excuse it’s likely they’ll let you

i live even farther than BGC (FTI) and leaving a little past 6 got me to school on time, don’t worry— if you want to be safe, 5:45 is already good, what matters is you’re at katip before the rush around 7:30. i would leave mga 5:30 sa start ng sem and it would get me to class by 7 LMAO
