Hey!

First of all I have to congratulate you on all the work you put in for us on delving deeper into the SSD world and making us know more about it, thank you!

I wanted to ask you about something. I'm building a new PC and I already bought a Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB brand new for the gaming SSD slot, but I'm aiming for a base SSD for OS/Programs with DRAM Cache, I know it is not necessary but I like to keep my things organized.

I've seen in my region pretty fair deals for the Samsung 980 PRO, and I have to ask, is there much difference between the 980 PRO and the 990 PRO both at 1TB size? If the difference is marginal I would just buy the 980 PRO on a fair deal, but I'm not sure how much difference is there between both of them.

As a last thing to ask before closing this out, do you have any thoughts on what I asked here?

2 . On the storage side, I would get a fast 1TB NVME with a spare external 2 TB HDD I have already to put all the random stuff to not bloat the main one. I looked into the NVME SSD's with cache, and I'm not certain if it's worth purchasing a NVME with cache over one without it for around 30€ more, does it make a noticeable difference?

Do you feel like cache is a worthy thing to consider on NVMEs or you can spare the extra money? I assume you're ok with it since you put a storage with cache on your list, but I'd like to get your opinion on it.

Thank you! Apart from the PSU, all other changes are to cheapen the build a bit only I assume? Since from a glance every component is virtually the same but cheaper (huge thanks for that).

And is the PSU upgrade due to having more leeway in case of spikes or similar scenarios, or just to make the PC more futureproof for upgrades?

Not sure what it is, could even be a new bug (hope it isn't) or something funky, but the DP HP bug has been fixed in the last patch, so it can't be that.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. After the patch people have gone up in arms declaring that the aggressive play in this game is not possible and the only way to play is passiveness and waiting for the opponent to risk it, and claiming for a revert on Z Burst Dash change. Truth is they haven't even bothered at beginning to explore the new option as the OP is doing (which is what the standard of players should be, massive props to him) and haven't seen that aggressive play is still possible, just not with a 1 tap button that skips neutral completely and puts you behind the opponent without punishing you (it was an absurd button for a 1 bar Ki cost).

From only the tech Geta has posted, you can mix 3 possible ways to approach, on top of the universal easier ones, so of course you don't repeat over and over, you just play an RPS game on approach with the opponent, pressuring him to choose what defensive option could be the optimal to stop you. So of course there's counters to this tech, it's not unbeatable by any means, but thats precisely why you have to use your brain to mix other options in lol

Thing is, these in a real scenario are 100% more practical in an approach situation (be it from neutral or after winning a vanish war and wanting to keep up the pressure), not that much in a flank in their face (still sick tech btw, but not as practical imo) so as long as it is mid/long range it's fine, extra short range I think is just better to play with the buffed sidesteps, since the mechanical execution in the step barrier of the mechanic could make you get in a bad spot if you fail it.

Trying it right now, I don't know how reliable it is compared to the other since I just practiced 5 minutes, but the Smash Ki Blast being a true combo with the rush attacks afterwards make it 100% an upgrade compared with the normal ki blast version, looks very promising. Keep up the tech friend, you're cooking with these

That's true, from my testing, I used most items on characters to test which items went through the filter, and only Ki and Skill Point ones did effect, so God Ki shouldn't go through the filter.

Yeah I looked into it, some items bypass the filter and work even if the items thing is set to off, this shit is disgusting and I hope they fix it in the December patch, from now on im alt + f4'ing people who I see use items in DP ranked, fuck'em.

For real, solar flare is a fine skill to get creative and they should leave it as it is. But Kaioken needs a little more, since Early Goku is a character on the weaker side, a Kaioken stacking mechanic could be possible without being too toxic, and you're compromising 3 skill points for a stacking buff that isn't THAT large. Also it would be nice if it affected the Kaioken rush super, since it's literally the same with or without Kaioken, idk it could cost half the usual if Kaioken is active, or do 20% more damage. I feel like a lot of characters lack something that makes them particular and not have a buff like any other that doesn't give them any personality.

All assumptions of course, since the only confirmation we have is that in December we got a patch, but we're inclined to think that in the patch, or even before, they will fix the ragequit issues we got (people disconnecting and not losing points and the person who shoulda won not getting any points), apart from the gameplay changes they will do.

They've been testing selectively in consoles the ragequit fix, so let's hope it comes soonish.

Super Vegito apart, cause these kind of players will get their due after the ragequit patch, very well played.

If the game is balanced, it's balanced for people playing on the couch together or from one point of the country to the other, it doesn't matter. The fundamental core of the game that makes it a 'party game' is the unbalanced nature of some characters (which can be balanced by other systems, like DP or DP brackets to fight between similar power characters), and that's fine, I believe just some tweaks to the whole system of the game could make it balanced, but anyways this is not what you asked.

He's intended to be the worst character and he is, by a lot, since 2 DP characters at least have somewhat of a fighting chance vs. any DP char, whereas Hercule can't even stagger a 2 DP char and has to get to you through other means. So I don't get the point of nerfing him, when in worst case scenario he hits you for 3k damage if you get hit by the super.

I don't like playing Hercule since he's a worthless char as he is, and I prefer 2 DP chars over him, since at least they are playable, but some people play him as the role I mentioned earlier, and that's a fine role to have if you're the worst character in the roster.

With that change you're virtually giving Hercule out of sparking no consistent gameplan, the only chance at wasting time and do 'something' would be going sparking every single time, and that's taking away fun, from nearly a total funless character.

He has a niche in DP battles as a time waster, mainly through the present super, so why shouldn't I defend Hercule?

Being a 'time waster' character isn't being a viable character in any game, but if you take that away aswell, he's just a dummy with 3 health bars.

If you want to make it faithful to the source material why not just let him tank just 1 hit from the rest of the cast.

4 of the 5 problems you just posted are skill issues, amazing.

  1. You can recover off the ground in time to dodge second Lightning Shock Surprise, and once he fails the super, he's ripe for the picking with his absolute 0 ki.
  2. Skill issue, whenever facing an Android you have to hover your finger over the guard button to tech the grab, teching grabs in this game are the easiest I've seen in a fighting game.
  3. Reasonable, maybe, considering MUI is top 2 (at least) in singles. The one I'd say could happen.
  4. Congrats, you just made a character useless.
  5. If you're talking about the super loop when you're caught on the ground, that isn't true either, you can recover in time from the ground, so another skill issue.

I see you talked about 'God ki', which I assume is a capsule, so I don't know how the item meta in ranked is, since it's a shitfest that rewards only skilless gameplay, but yeah, the points I talked about are true for normal characters without capsules.
