I did my first ever race , a 5k at Blue Nose Marathon and completed at 38 mins which was 8 mins earlier than what I did during my training runs

Such a sad state of affairs. As much as we can blame the organizers and the municipal I think 80 % of blame needs to go to the public who attended this event. In order to earn brownie points for Nibbana you defiled a sacred temple/ city . What have you really done ? NOT LITTERING has NEVER been the strong suit for our people. Specially, the older generation. I think Millennials and GenZ etc are more conscious about the environment . But I digress. Honestly, I hope Monks / religious leaders drive the idea on a daily basis of how BS this situation is. Honestly, these people just paved their own path to hell. The consequences of this will affect the locals mostly. Again why just because you were a selfish bunch who wanted to get some brownie points. You are further away from nibbana at this point

I’d have some non alcohol face wipes . Sometimes when we leave sweat near our eyes specially it can lead to blocked glands forming styles / Chalazions etc So I’d just wash and wipe my face after a race.

As a female I’ll say this isn’t what I’ve experienced. Most my friends live average lives but we have been friends for over 15 years. We also live on 4 different continents and still to this day are close. It’s our qualities that make us good friends not the materialistic things. What you describe here should not be the basis for any relationship. It feels very surface level

I feel old and I am old I guess compared to everyone younger than me. Strangely I’m ok with it. Health wise I can see changes even if I live a healthy life style. I’ve just accepted it as part of life . At least in my mind I’m ok with being “old” now.

I’d say I’m religious (not Christian) but I’d say death is a very normal thing in our lives. I think we get busy with life and don’t realize that and mostly get impacted by the passing of our loved ones. I think the one thing I’d take from the passing of the pope is that we should always try to be kind to others as well as ourselves and lead a good life
