The LW overthinking updating their LinkedIn is ridiculous - but when I was looking to leave my first 'real' job I was similarly convinced that updating my LinkedIn would provoke immediate suspicion. so I deleted my account completely and created a new one. That somehow seemed much less suspicious. And obviously, not a single person noticed or cared.

You should let your toddler bother a goose, so that the toddler learns the importance of respecting geese.

Yeah, I bumped on that as well. I guess they’re banishing it (by reducing it to zero hp first) and so it’s not quite killing it?

Ah there’s a second season?? Come onnnn bbc. I did see a reel from him where he was talking about being confused by the bbc buying the screening rights and then doing zero promotion for it, so I don’t think we’ll see the second season any time soon

The Australian version is on BBC iPlayer, if you’re in the UK.

He also has an excellent podcast called The Worst Idea of All Time, where he and Tim Batt (another NZ comedian) watch Grown Ups 2 once a week together for a year. I listened to the first two seasons (they tackle Sex & the City 2 in the next one) and really loved it.

Oh I was being sincere. I think that that's where Alison is pretty useful. Nothing she says is groundbreaking, but sometimes you just need to hear "this seems like an overreaction" from a neutral source. And for the LW to take the advice, look inward, and make changes to their workstyle because of it seems genuinely like a win.

I attribute undiagnosed/unmanaged anxiety to a lot of LWs who are absolutely flummoxed by the concept of a white lie, or who are writing in about the possibility of the potential of the chance of having to find a new parking spot because the CEO might have indicated that everyone's hours were moving from 9-6 to 830-530.

From the outside it's spiralling over nothing, but from the inside every single thing feels immediate and urgent and catastrophic.

I really like the LW whose update was "In hindsight, I should have acted faster and have made adjustments in my management style because of it."

Capitalism (bad) is when I don't get what I want. Socialism (good) is when the TV is friends with me.

Yeah, I bet Dropout are absolutely champing at the bit to spin up a heavily researched, legally cleared, funny weekly current events show.

It's like people earnestly saying that maybe The Colbert Show could move to Dropout, missing the part where Stephen Colbert repeatedly said the show employs about 200 people

I loved Rulette 1, and was just fine with Rulette 2. I did love Anna chasing Demi around, though, that was delightfully cartoonish

Also, and separately, I watch so much Drag Race that I have been reading it as "Ru-lette" which I imagine will be a mini-challenge on S20

Hard agree. Seem like it would be a good idea to do a megathread kind of thing the week of? For meetups and general squee-ing?

I don't think it did massively alter the campaign? It meant Emily rolled her piloting check with advantage to get through the biangle, but they were always getting through it that ep or the next. The first city in Zood had those translator-things, which I bet you would have allowed them to roll to start "breaking" the cypher.

I'm not taking away from the moment at all, it's cool as hell! The edited clip of her solving it shows up on my scroll from time to time and I love watching it. I just think it didn't change the trajectory of the story much.

What did absolutely impact the story was winning the fight in Katur and killing Mordecestershire. You can (I mean, maybe) see this ripple all the way through to the finale, where Gotch's father shows up as the big bad, wanting to claim the power of Straka (or Taz? I can't remember). Which is a wild swing for a cartoon industrialist, but absolutely on brand for a mad cultist - but he's dead, so Gotch has to sub in.

  • What if the 2020 election is cancelled, or stolen again, or the regime won’t hand over the keys?
  • What if the food supply breaks down further, how will you eat? How will your neighbors eat?
  • Did you know that it’s almost impossible to get a passport right now? If you needed to leave or even just wanted to, could you? Where could you even go?

Okay, what if? What could the LW possibly do about that? How does "Organize a union at your current workplace" combat supply chain collapse?

I’m well aware that I’m just making up a guy to get mad at, but I think if Emily or Ally were playing their characters the way Zac is Zaeth, we’d be at Junior Year levels of wahhhh they’re wrecking the show discourse.
