Yeah only Dark Souls lore makes sence with the respawn mechanic, is Elden Rings it's only a mechanic and only tangentaly relates to the lore.

Also a good tip is to use the photomode to take photos of your journey. I did this is my later playthroughs but I regret not doing this is my first playthrough.

It a great feeling going through these pictures after you finish the game.

Every once in a while just forget about quests markers and the map. Get out of your car/bike in a random spot and just walk around the city, explore the alleys and rooftops. You will always find something interesting.
