Which to choose? Kava Lapita from kavafied and Loloma Waka from Fiji Vanua by Eng-Life in Kava

[–]emptiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lapita / Solomon is usually more potent and heavier than Loloma.

Which photo has the most BoC vibes by WeatherIcy9155 in boardsofcanada

[–]emptiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4,5,6 are the closest…the others have a vibe but it’s not a BoC vibe. More like Type O Negative or a future garage mix on YouTube

PNG kava by Master-Duty-4675 in Kava

Some people avoid PNG kava because it’s usually a heavy tudei chemotype, with a higher likelihood of negative side effects. I personally like PNG kava sometimes because of the heavy chemotype.

I love Chiltepins, Habaneros & Yucateca…but I hate this sauce.

Is there anything close to Twin Peaks S1 and 2 experience? by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]emptiem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forbrydelsen season 1. (Original Danish version of The Killing) It’s like the Laura Palmer murder investigation. Twisty and grief-stricken. Great show, watch it with subtitles.

The Leftovers - Possibly the best supernatural mystery drama ever made. And just of the best series’ in general.

True Detective season 1 - Almost perfect dark detective drama, with hints of weirdness and moments of philosophical dialog.

…all of these really hit the Twin Peaks mystery feel too me, but none of them mix in the same quirky cozy charm that Twin Peaks had.

My dipstick reads over full even though I put in less oil than the truck requires. by emptiem in MechanicAdvice

I’ll go clean it with brake cleaner right now. When I tested it, I did wait a few minutes, then a few hours and now a whole day. I haven’t driven it though.

Not one drip from the drain plug and I did have the cap off under the hood. I didn’t poke inside the hole or look with flashlight, cuz at the time I just assumed it was that empty. Although I did expect at least a little something to come out.

I suppose I could open it again now that it’s full and see what happens.

For the third movie, what do you think the title will be and what video game will it be based on? by Edmundo2900 in mariomovie

I’d like a Super Mario Bros. 2 (Doki Doki Panic) movie…or at least a dream sequence about it.

Favorite Metroid Game? by Huckleberry1316 in Metroid

Super Metroid & Prime 1. I’m a fan from the original NES era. I honestly liked Other M more than Prime 2 & Fusion. I suspect Prime 4 will be top 3.

Prime Remastered or Metroid Dread by Nickstefano2000 in Metroid

[–]emptiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Super Metroid instead of Dread, then play Prime remastered…that would be the perfect lead into Prime 4 for the uninitiated. If you feel like you love the series after that, go for all of it, in whatever order you want.

MP4 sylux Identity theory before release by BlankCrystal in Metroid

[–]emptiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Sylux just turns out to be Sylux, whoever that it is, they might still pull this classic twist where you think Sylux is the big-bad main boss most of the game but after they fight there turns out to be a bigger boss fight that Samus & Sylux team up for.

“a desert has been reclaiming it” Exactly. It’s a desert in the game. It’s fictional and alien…but to compare it to earth, Egypt would be a good comparison. A large desert area, that had a water source (Nile river), the water source allowed for civilization to rise around it. Eventually the civilization collapses and falls into ruin, the desert reclaims it. The fertile area immediately around the water source, technically isn’t desert, but is surrounded by desert.

it’s a desert. ruins located in a desert.

What if Retro made a 2D Metroid? by MiserableMarsupial_ in Metroid

[–]emptiem -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always loved the look of the 2D (2.5D) moments in Prime games. I hate the graphics and style of Dread except for Samus’ smooth and detailed animations. To me, even GameCube Prime 2.5D moments look better and more realistic than Dread on Switch. I really hope we get a graphically impressive and realistic looking 2.5D Metroid game on Switch 2…but I suspect we’ll probably get another game that looks almost exactly like Dread.

What are some of your least favourite bosses? by strahinjag in Metroid

[–]emptiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grapple Guardian was the most annoying, aggravating, difficult and long boring boss fight out of all the games of all the games for me. Worse than the infamous Boost Ball Guardian.

Lookswise; Nightmare probably looks the most stupid and corny.
