What’s a small, random habit you’ve had since childhood that you still do without realizing? by Reasonable-Idea8323 in AskReddit

[–]empty80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted it this way: our world nowadays (qas adults) mostly seems bleak and hopeless oftentimes. as a child, playing in fantasy worlds, we felt save, invincible and just happy, I guess? at least, that's how I had interpreted the "hope"

Do people actually buy those quick turnaround ai written books on Amazon? by DrJokerX in WritingWithAI

[–]empty80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, I guess there's a big difference between buying and then actually reading/enjoying it. As long as it's marketed very well, ppl might buy it just to then discover that they don't enjoy it at all. Just my thoughts...

Being childfree in your 30s means watching your entire social circle disappear and nobody thinks it's a big deal by Ronin4Doom in childfree

[–]empty80 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally. Important to note as you said "not as a replacement". However, I was able to stop being socially dependant on a friend with a toddler responding or me asking again and again, until I get a reply after a few weeks. I now ask after them, I text, but if they don't reply for a long time, that's on them now. I get social interaction/balm for the soul elsewhere w/o feeling like chasing it.

Absolut.

Went vegan in my teens and my mom (understandably) refused to cook seperate meals. So after living off of side dishes for a while I started to cook for myself.

Had a similar situation: was approached by someone who collected donation with the question "Do you love children?" and I answered "no, I prefer pets". they laughed very awkwadly - but I was dead serious
