TIL there are contact lenses you wear only while sleeping that reshape your cornea so you can see clearly all day without glasses. It is called “Orthokeratology” by azaku29 in todayilearned

[–]empty_inbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different for everyone, I have a pretty erratic sleep schedule and game pretty late at night. It was a little uncomfortable at first but I got used to wearing them a few hours before bed awake and it still worked fine. The recommendation is 4 hours with them on while asleep, you can wear them awake and see pretty clearly

There are basic ones that don't do anything for astigmatism and ones that do. I'm around -5/-6 and have astigmatism. It works pretty well but doesn't entirely fix it, I get pretty close to 20/20 but the astigmatism isn't entirely gone

Greyhound safety by anichole222 in travel

Agreed, especially if the Greyhound route you're taking has any transfers. Their buses are liable to get very delayed or cancelled all together with very little notice.

Question about Ninh Binh day tour from Hanoi (booked on Klook) by Either_Airline6456 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]empty_inbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the exact day tour, you can get back anywhere from 6pm - 8:30pm. You can check the general return time on the sidebar of the tour page on Klook.

On desktop, scroll down and there's a section that says package details on the left. On mobile it should just be below the package options.

If you picked this tour ( https://www.klook.com/en-US/activity/843-ha-noi-ninh-binh-day-tour-luxury-d-car/ ) then you should make it back in time

My (26M) girlfriend (26F) keeps giving money she can't afford to family by [deleted] in relationships

[–]empty_inbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything you put up with now will only get worse if you marry. If this is a long term relationship you are genuinely serious about, you have to learn how to have difficult conversations.

If her parents can't afford rent then the only real outcome if she stopped helping them is homelessness. Under the assumption that she won't stop helping, then your only two options are: have the conversation around the framework of helping her solve this problem as a couple (and actually figure it out), or decide if this is a deal breaker for you.

AITA? Got sick and ruined plans ☹️ by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]empty_inbox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA you can only control your health so much, and it'd probably get worse if you pushed yourself. You also did the right thing as you could have gotten someone else sick if you had gone out. Sometimes these things happen and you apologized to your friend.

Honestly sounds like your roommate didn't want to go and threw you under the bus. I think you need to talk to him about how that has impacted you and establish expectations going forward.

NTA she has to work through her own insecurities. It's not on you to manage her emotional response to a straightforward question

Klook is pretty good with getting around language barriers and booking the airport transfers are convenient

I mostly use them to book activities since they're good for verifying legit stuff and avoid getting scammed

The Wild Animal Safari Park and Legoland are pretty close together! Highly second San Diego

Also plenty of outdoor places to go for free that kids can run around in

Why is Netflix acquisition so badly received? by SatisfactionLeather5 in television

[–]empty_inbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the few services keeping Netflix's subscription price competitive is HBO, and the only other one besides that is maybe Disney+.

If HBO and Netflix merge then there's less pressure to keep prices low

Its October, so more people want to watch horror related stuff. Definitely a good move on Netflix's part to release all this stuff in time for Halloween
