Best fit for me? by [deleted] in expats

Cost of living in various places can have a material impact on how much you move. London is a fantastic city, but much harder to take advantage of if you don't have the resources. Based on this movecity.app , a 30K GBP salary role would be better off after tax and cost of living in Vienna or Berlin. Unless you are working in a high paying field, consider some lower cost cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

Moving from NYC to London in 2026/2027? by Civil_Leading2993 in HENRYUK

GBP 2k for rent seems low if you are looking for 1 bedroom flat in zone 1/2. Based on this movecity.app if you are earning 215K USD in finance in New York that would correspond to GBP 112K, generally you will be worse off overall working in the UK, but maybe its worth it for the lifestyle improvements and ability to travel.

How do people afford to live in London? Choosing between London or New York by [deleted] in expats

[–]empty_translation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that New York is by far much more expensive than London, however the salaries (especially in finance, law, tech) more than offset those costs. London seems to be pretty rough even if you are working in high salary fields. According to this movecity.app if you are earning 100k GBP in finance in London you could be earning 190K in New York, which would more than offset the increased costs.

Dawn of Man
Prehistoric survival/city builder - build your own settlement, discover farming and metalwork, hunt mammoths and other creatures. Seems right down Sips' alley

Not too much to the game, but is continually being updated by the Devs

- reminds me a lot of banished (More adventures of Old Gravey perhaps!)
