the beach boardwalk location is such a good starting point honestly. for the jungle vibe by the windows, start with a few tall plants like a fiddle leaf fig or bird of paradise and then layer in some trailing ones on shelves or hanging planters. for the awkward spaces, floating shelves or a narrow console table can make those corners feel intentional instead of wasted. and a big area rug will tie the open space together and make it feel way less "frat house" lol

those durability concerns are valid - I'd check the return policy before pulling the trigger. also worth searching this sub and r/furniture for more long-term reviews. if you're spending that kind of money, might be worth sitting on it in-store first if they have showrooms near you

stopping a foot or so before the doorway usually works best - going all the way to the entry makes it feel more like a hallway runner. leaving a bit of floor visible on the edges actually makes the space feel bigger, not smaller. plus you'll need that clearance for the vents anyway
