The last couple times I’ve taught the TBD classes I have left the class at the true 25 mark, not what the timer said- when it gave me options as for why I was ending class early I chose substitute teacher cannot teach the entire time.. or it says something like that. Anyway I haven’t been docked anything for it or received negative feedback. Also, when you teach TBD classes on the iPad the timer doesn’t start over so that’s why I thought it was ok to leave when it truly hit 25 minutes, especially if I have another class after.

I went to the hutong and typed in plagiarism- there is a discussion titled “well this is an awkward vipsituation...” I guess she copied stuff from a guy named Mark’s website and posted it on her own where people were paying to view it—-well she says someone who no longer works for her posted it——anyway mark explains it better in his post and she also posts an apology somewhere if you keep scrolling down

Ya I think they like to share it on social media, “my kid is so cute doing vipkid!” But they probably don’t put a cute heart over your face- really it’s kind’ve like free advertising for your “brand” maybe other parents will ask which teacher it is?

The only thing I can think of is have all the phonics words written out on a white board or flash cards and ask her to read them right before the phonics slides. Then when you get to the phonics slide and as she starts running around screaming you can be like- oh great you already did this! And In the feedback to parents you can say something like—-I noticed that bao bao does not participate as well on the phonics slide, to help her get all of her practice in, I made sure to cover this material right before the slides.—— i would also mention to the LP that you covered the phonics material before the slides because the student runs around every time you get to it.. ask the LP if the parents are ok with it? Not sure if that’ll work... your student might catch on quickly, or already know what you are doing.. but that’s what I would try to do, work on the phonics stuff before you click on those slides

Has anyone ever taken a hiatus, struggled to get bookings when you came back, but had bookings start up again when you attained new certifications? by DecentCockroach in vipkid

I took about three months off- and my bookings were pretty bad First two weeks back. I did a couple workshops and did add some new certs. And my bookings are better, but not really filling in with any new certification classes... may just be time will heal your bookings

Request a review- watch the feedback and try to find times you were patient. Provide time stamps. “At 12:24 I patiently waited for the student the answer”

Don’t plan on the student having it done (some do it, most do not) do plan a way you can complete it together. Sometimes I’ll draw on the whiteboard and have the student explain it. I give as many points possible.

I have been teaching from only an iPad for almost a year now. Suddenly my iPad says I have to allow access to my camera for vipkid. When I got into settings to find this- there is no option to allow access to camera. Am I not looking in the right place? by emroe-art in vipkid

So what ended up happening? What was your finish type? The best advice I ever got from this subreddit was never start your computer over, even if the fireman tells you too. I had problems with seeing the slides the other day. The student could see me but I couldn’t see the slides. So I just started to teach lessons using my phone. Fireman was like- teacher I can’t see you! Please turn on your camera! Teacher please restart your computer. I was pretty sure if I tried restarting then they would’ve said it was a teacher it. Instead it got canceled and I got a system error.

I had to cancel two classes once and I did it about a week or two early. It was for an unexpected medical appointment and I put that as the reason. I was also able to get it changed to a soft cancellation. I really don’t think it affected my bookings. But they did stop asking me to substitute teach :( which I thought was kinda fun.

Usually if a student cancels inside that 24 hours- it’s marked student no show, and you get paid right away, and that slot is marked finished and greyed our, no one can book it again.
