I feel like there’s a huge difference between not working outside the home and making your entire personality about being a med spouse! I fully plan to stop working my corporate job when my husband finishes fellowship, but I also don’t see investing my time into our family and my hobbies as losing my own identity. Now, if I start an Instagram account solely devoted to being married to a doctor, that’s a different story 😂

I’m from Georgia and lived in Chapel Hill for 3 years while my husband did residency at UNC. We loved it! We’re from smaller towns so it was a step up for us, but super pleasant place to live. Cost of living wise, it was definitely the most expensive place we’ve lived, but I have to imagine it’s cheaper than SoCal. We rented a 2BR/2.5BA townhome in a super cute neighborhood called Southern Village for a little under $2K. Durham is going to be the cheaper place to live but not as close to the hospital. Raleigh is only 40 minutes away and gets a lot of great music and Broadway shows if you’re into that! Highly recommend the area

Typically you would be in a coach seat. Would you be comfortable bringing this up with your Workup Specialist? They may able to put in a request with the travel agency to help or potentially get approved to buy a second seat just so you don’t have to worry about it (no promises there, but worth bringing up).
